The law firm handling the case released a statement, “Today, Wigdor along with the Law Offices of Kevin Mintzer, filed a suit and notice on behalf of Jane Doe against music executive Jimmy Iovine. Ms. Doe’s allegations include that Iovine engaged in multiple incidents of sexual abuse and forced touching against her, including a specific incident of sexual misconduct in NYC in 2007. At this time, we will not comment further on this matter.”

In the filing, Jane Doe “seeks damages to remedy the injuries Plaintiff has suffered as a result of being sexually abused, forcibly touched and subjected to sexual harassment and retaliation in violation of anti-discrimination laws on or about August 2007.”

The woman also wants the case tried in New York County, claiming “venue is appropriate because a substantial portion of the events and omissions giving rise to Plaintiff’s claims occurred in New York County.”

It should be noted that the law firm is the same group of lawyers that filed a sexual assault suit against Diddy by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie. Diddy and Iovine were quite close with the Bad Boys Record founder calling his marriage, “the blackest marriage with a Rabbi.” [he had] ever seen.”

“I just thought of the problem: Girls sit around talking about boys or complaining about boys when they’re heartbroken or whatever. And they need music for that, don’t they? It’s hard to find the right music.”

She continued, “I’ve always known that women find it very difficult at times – some women – to find music. And this helps make it easier with playlists, curated by real people.” As expected, his statement caused an uproar, with many labeling him “stupid.”

One fan wrote, “Dear man, and I’m totally serious… I don’t think you think as stupid as Jimmy Iovine said,” while another said, “If you go to the gender settings in iTunes and click GIRL a small digital Jimmy Iovine is seen holding a boombox over his head playing U2.”

Although host Gayle King tried to save her, claiming the discussion was out of context, Iovine still had to apologize.

“We created Apple Music to make finding the right music easy for everyone – men and women, young and old,” he said in a statement. “Our new ad focuses on women, that’s why I answered the way I did, but of course the same goes for men. I could have chosen my words better, and I apologize.”
