A mysterious gastrointestinal illness is spreading aboard a cruise ship to Hawaii, sickening at least 154 people on Saturday, officials said.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating a massive outbreak on the Queen Victoria, which is operated by Cunard Cruise Line, a British shipping and cruise company based in Southampton, England, according to ABC.
The ship, carrying 1,824 passengers and 967 crew, departed Fort Lauderdale, Fla., on January 22 and is expected to reach its final destination of Honolulu on February 12.
The cause of the disease is still unknown, according to the CDC.
On Friday, it was reported that 139 contracted the disease, but that number jumped to 154 on Saturday, with a total of 129 passengers and 25 crew now suffering from symptoms such as diarrhea and vomiting.

Cunard Cruise Line confirmed to The Post that “a number of guests have reported symptoms of gastrointestinal illness on board” and that they are enacting protocols to ensure the “well-being” of those on board.
The CDC’s Ship Sanitation Program is monitoring the situation and looking at ship responses and protocols.
