Career

After completing her MBA, Namita worked briefly at GlaxoSmithKline, a British multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company headquartered in London. After that, he was placed at Guidant Corporation, a medical device company in the United States. He started working there in the financial planning department as a business finance lead. He served the company in various capacities for about 6 years. After that, he joined Emcure Pharmaceuticals as CFO. Slowly, his area of ​​operation expanded in the company and he started looking after the company’s Indian business. Until 2022, he served as Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals.

Thapar is a Board Member of the Fuqua School of Business Regional Advisory Board. Namita is an active member of the Young Presidents Organization. He is also a trustee on the Board of Trustees of TiE Mumbai. In December 2021, he appeared as a judge on Shark Tank India, the Indian adaptation of the popular American business reality show ‘Shark Tank.’ The show features a panel of potential judges also known as Sharks who listen to various new business models and ideas and invest in them.
