Natalie Portman just spilled some tea about her decades-long sustainable style.
During a recent interview, the Hollywood vegan fashionista opened up about how she keeps the climate change conversation alive in her home while taking specific steps to live the greenest life possible. The Israeli-American actress’ informative session comes almost a year after it was revealed that she needs to build muscle for her role in Marvel’s 2022 film, “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
Natalie Portman Hasn’t Owned Any Fashion Items Made From Animals In Two Decades
Portman was candid as she shared how she keeps her loved ones interested in participating in activities that will help with long-term changes in weather and temperature patterns, stating:
“We talk about [climate change] a lot in our household in terms of the way we live, what we choose to do.”

She later revealed that one of the things she has done is to avoid animal cruelty-based textiles and fabrics while investing only in vintage designs and clothes. In the words of Miss Dior’s fragrance face:
“I have not bought or used any leather or fur or animal products in 20 years. I buy vintage clothes, and only if absolutely necessary, and of course repair damaged items.”
The “V for Vendetta” star added that she recently bought vintage handbags instead of “new ones” as part of her sustainable lifestyle. He took things deeper when he explained that his choices go beyond fashion, as he uses a car sharing app that only features electric cars.
When the Golden Globe Award winner and her family — her husband Benjamin Millepied and their two children — travel, she organizes “their trips to places we can go by train; or if we must fly, stay long enough to justify the trip.”
“Libraries play a big role in family awareness, too,” Portman said Hollywood Reporter how he spreads his passion, knowledge and wisdom about climate change.
He went on to explain that the library is where his family “can find greater joy and choice in sharing and not owning. It’s a process and it’s not perfect, but the awareness is there.”
Unsurprisingly, the anti-poverty advocate is serious about the climate as he has been a vegetarian since his pre-teens. He became vegan in 2011 after reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s 2009 book, “Eating Animals.”

Since her veganism limited her diet, Portman had to eat berries, oats and a protein shake for breakfast to boost her revenge as Jane Foster in “Thor: Love and Thunder.” As reported by The Blast, the details of the “Star Wars” prequel trilogy star’s meal plan were shared by her trainer, Naomi Pendergast, last year.
In the run-up to the film’s July 8 premiere, Pendergast revealed that the Democratic Party supporter relies on nuts, fruit and small salads to power him through long days on set. When he eats lunch, the “defun the police” supporter will eat a vegan falafel meal along with a second protein shake.
“Mars Attack!” the cast will eat vegan curry and a third protein shake for dinner. Pendergast explained that the amount of food her client was eating “was more than Natalie was used to, but it was important for her to maintain this throughout the shoot to maintain the muscle she had developed.”
As her trainer detailed, the naturally curly brunette also had to take part in intense stunts to maintain muscle from her high-calorie diet, “The initial goal was to build definition in the arms and stomach. We also worked on stability and agility for injury prevention as Natalie had some dynamic action scenes that required her to move, turn and land in various positions.”
The internationally certified Pilates instructor also said she was “overwhelmed” that the on-screen goddess survived “the challenging stunt process without any injuries.” The list of things Portman does to get in shape includes boxing, weightlifting, core work and skipping. The triathlete praised the player for his “focus, determination, and humility” throughout the process.
