Bruce Hochman (1929–2011), a US Air Force veteran who graduated with the first class from UCLA Law School, and Harriet Hochman, a prominent figure in the nonprofit community in Los Angeles, are the parents of Nathan Hochman.
Hochman graduated from Beverly Hills High School before earning his law degree from Stanford Law School and his undergraduate degree from Brown University (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa).
Hochman served as a law clerk in Los Angeles for United States District Judge Stephen V. Wilson after graduating. Soon after, Hochman was appointed Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California. Hochman prosecuted nearly 180 cases in the criminal division while serving in that capacity, securing convictions against corrupt public officials, people and drug traffickers, money laundering and more. For two years, Hochman also served as coordinator for environmental crimes.
