dear father,
“Gold” is what you always call me. I am your precious little girl. However, little was I then, and little did I know, how precious you were to me. Ask any girl and she will always say that her dad is the strongest. That is the inexplicable and unconditional love between father and daughter.
I remember endless hugs, countless kisses, endless walks holding your big loving hand…first to school and then straight through college, marriage and life in general. You are the sounding board for all my woes especially towards my mother! When I’m older, I’m also embarrassed by your overprotectiveness, enthusiasm and overtly showing affection, especially when I’m around friends. But nothing will stop you, not even staying up late at night during my partying phase; all comforts after heartbreak; and support for all my decisions even if they are wrong.
I love the sea. You introduced me to it…riding wave after wave as I held onto your back, forming a lifelong pattern of riding each wave of life. So no matter where you are, like a wave that never stops, I will love you forever
your daughter,
Nayanika”

I hesitated but I took the job and really enjoyed it because not only did I hone my skills, I also helped other girls. When I started modeling there was no formal training and I learned the hard way so when girls have someone telling them what they are doing right and wrong it is so much easier and really helpful… which we don’t have and I want to give that to girls -girls especially those from small towns who have big dreams but don’t know how to take them forward. I have been practicing now for over twenty years and I still enjoy it. It is very satisfying to see a student succeed in the industry.”
