Career
Nazr Mohammed began his basketball career in 1998. He began his professional career after being selected by the Utah Jazz in the 1998 NBA draft. Mohammed was immediately transferred to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he spent two and a half seasons before being released. He moved to the Atlanta Hawks in February 2001, where he scored a career-best 30 points against the Los Angeles Clippers on November 5, 2001.
Then he moved to the New York Knicks, where he finished the 2004-05 season. He was signed by the San Antonio Spurs for the 2004–05 season and earned his first and only title in 2005. On March 17, 2006, he matched his career high with 30 points in a game against the Phoenix Suns.
Mohammed was offered a four-year contract extension by the Spurs, but he declined and signed with the Detroit Pistons in July 2006. On December 14, 2007, he was dealt to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Primoz Brezec and Walter Herrman. He was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder on February 24, 2011, where he reached the 2012 NBA Finals but lost to the Miami Heat. He joined the Chicago Bulls on July 27, 2012, and retired on October 9, 2015. On March 5, 2016, he came out of retirement to join the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was later fired by the squad, making him a free agent.
