NCAA basketball star Amari Bailey is on her way to becoming one of the most sought-after athletes, after signing her first major ‘NO’ deal with Ethika clothing.
According to sources close to the deal, Bailey (who is currently a freshman at UCLA) signed a contract with the underwear giant to produce and design his own pair of products.
Described by Sports Illustrated as a “smooth lefty who is a legitimate two-way talent, Bailey is poised to make an immediate impact as a freshman at UCLA. He is very athletic and plays with a fire that inspires his teammates. He made plays that really impacted momentum and resulted in wins.”

The exact terms of the deal remain confidential, but Amari will work with the company on creating exclusive underwear products. The basketball player will work with designers at the company to create custom items that relate to him and his style.
As for compensation, Bailey will share a percentage of the revenue generated from his products and sales. It was a big moment, considering the baller would be getting the same deals as some of the biggest stars in the world like Rick Ross and Lil’ Wayne.
Ethics Executive Darius Burton told The Blast, “NIL’s deal with Amari couldn’t have come at a better time. I have followed Amari’s career since she was young. I have always been impressed with the way he handles himself on and off the court. When I heard he was moving to Southern California, I wanted to find a way to work with him. We reached out to her high school team and asked if they would be interested in doing an underwear deal with Ethika, and we wanted Amari to have some design input on the underwear we were going to make for the team.”

Adding, “The deal with his high school never materialized, so it was time to think of another way. Most of the offers we had were with athletes at the professional level, but we felt so strongly about Amari and his talent that we thought why not try with kids -kid. I have no doubt that we will do amazing things as a team, and I couldn’t be happier to have him as part of our family.”
Interestingly, her family made big headlines outside of the basketball court when her mother was spotted dating rapper Drake. The duo met after the musician rented out the entire Los Angeles Dodgers stadium for a candlelit dinner with Ibu Amari, Johanna Leia.

Darius addressed it, saying, “I was introduced to Johanna (Amari’s mother) and we hit it off from the jump…she’s one of the nicest clients I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with. He spoke with Amari, and within a week we were able to close a deal that everyone was happy with, and now we’re working on releasing some Ethika products specifically for Amari along with his own signature staples.”
We’re guessing the next stop for this young man is… the NBA.
