Nebraska funeral worker fired after using sex doll of dead man he was tasked to collect

A Nebraska funeral worker was busted last week after he had sex with a life-size doll of the dead man he was assigned to transport, police said.

Ryan Smith, 41, was arrested Friday on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, and tampering with physical evidence — and was immediately fired from the Omaha morgue show.

Smith became enamored with the doll after seeing it in a Rock Creek Apartment unit she and her co-workers were sent to retrieve the body of a man who had died of natural causes, according to court documents obtained by WOWT.

The couple worked on behalf of Mid America First Call, a company that removed, transported, embalmed and cremated bodies.

Later that day, Smith allegedly called the property manager and claimed the Sarpy County Sheriff’s Office sent him back to the unit to retrieve the doll so it could be swabbed for a “biopsy” — a strange request that was immediately shot down.

The insect decided to help itself and somehow got into the dead man’s apartment, officials claimed.

The manager came across a disturbing scene while investigating noises coming from inside the unit, which was locked and chained.

Smith then allegedly walked out – with her clothes disheveled – and warned the manager that she would return with a warrant for the doll.

The threat proved damaging to Smith; the manager called the police and reported the failure, saying he feared the funeral workers would return to break in and steal property from the apartment.

Investigators arrived and found that several items in the unit had been moved since the investigation into their deaths earlier that day.

The Douglas County Crime Lab is in the process of processing fingerprints taken from the moved items – and is planning to request a DNA sample from the doll.

Justin Dalton, owner of Mid America First Call, confirmed to WOWT that Smith was fired even though the crime did not occur on the clock.
