Neelkamal Singh debuted his first Bhojpuri song ‘Mausi Ke Chumma Le Papa’ in 2003. In 2015, he worked as an actor and singer for the music album ‘PK Sut Jata,’ released by Wave Company. He sang the audio song ‘Madaiya Me Maza Lela’ in 2017. He received immense appreciation from the audience for his sad song ‘Barbad Jindagi’ (2018).

In 2021, Bhojpui actress Akshara Singh filed a case against Nilkamal Singh at Kankarbagh Police Station, Patna. The actor claimed that Singh had made some rude remarks about him in one of his songs. He also responded to them on his social media.
