Neena Kulkarni is a popular Indian theatre, film and television actress. She is best known for playing the role of ‘Madhvi Vishwanathan Iyer’ in the popular TV series, ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ (2013), aired on Star Plus.

Neena Kulkarni was born on Wednesday, 15 August 1955 (age 64 years; as in 2019), in Pune, Maharashtra. His zodiac sign is Leo. He did his schooling from Canossa High School, Mahim in Mumbai. Later, he joined Elphinstone College in Mumbai to pursue his graduation in arts, and his main subject in graduation was French.

Relationships, Husband & Children
She was friends with the late Marathi actor Dilip Kulkarni for almost six years, and the couple married on 25 October 1980. The couple had two children, Sohaa Kulkarni and Divij Kulkarni. Sohaa ventures into TV production, and Divij works in an advertising company. On December 22, 2002, Neena’s husband died of a serious heart condition.
Career
While she was in college, she started working as a model in various fashion shows. He has appeared in various TV commercials, including Kalnirnay, Bisleri, Sprite, Mother Dairy, Cadbury, and Life Insurance Corporation.
In 1970, she met Indian theater director and actor, Satyadev Dubey. He got his early training in acting from her. Later, he acted in many popular Marathi and Hindi theater plays, such as Mohan Rakesh’s ‘Adhe Adhure’, Shankar Shesh’s ‘Mayavi Sarovar’, Willie Russell’s ‘Educating Rita’ and Ajit Dalvi’s ‘Mahatma Versus Gandhi’.
In 1978, Indian Marathi film & theater director Vijaya Mehta chose her to play the role of ‘Shabbo’ in Anil Barve’s theater play ‘Hamidabai Chi Kothi.’ Neena acted in many of Vijaya Mehta’s (Bai) theatres, and later, assisted him in various acting workshops.
In 1987, he debuted in the Bollywood film, ‘Mirch Masala,’ where he played the role of a pepper factory worker. He has appeared as a supporting actor in many Bollywood films, such as ‘Daayraa’ (1996), ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’ (2000), ‘Hungama’ (2003), ‘Paheli’ (2005), and ‘Guru’ (2007 ).
He is a famous Marathi actor. His career as an actor in Marathi films began in 1992 with the film, ‘Hach Sunbaicha Bhau.’ She has played important roles in many Marathi films, including ‘Pachhadlela’ (2004), ‘Sarivar Sari’ (2005), ‘Shevri’ (2006), ‘Gandha’ (2009), and ‘Kulkarni Chaukatla Deshpande’ (2019).
Apart from acting in theater and films, she has appeared in many TV series, such as ‘Saarrthi’ (2004), ‘Baa Bahoo Aur Baby’ (2005), ‘Kayamath’ (2007), and ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ (2013).
He produced the Marathi film, ‘Shevri’ in 2006, under his own film production company, ‘Upstage Film Company.’ The film won the ‘National Film Award’ for Best Feature Film in Marathi in 2007.
In 2012, he appeared in the Hollywood film, ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.’ In 2016, she acted in the French film, ‘A Wedding.’
She acted in the Hindi short film ‘Devi’ in 2020, along with actresses like Kajol, Shruti Haasan, and Neha Dhupia.
