Neeraj Sehrawat, better known as Neeraj Bawana, is an Indian gangster. He was Delhi’s most wanted gangster until his arrest in April 2015. Till 2021, Bawana is lodged in Tihar Jail, Delhi.

Neeraj Bawana was born on Friday, August 5, 1988 (age 33 years; in 2021) in Bawana, Delhi. His zodiac sign is Leo. He was not good at studies in childhood and took formal education only till class 10. His father wanted Neeraj to help him with the tent business he had earlier. During his teenage years, Neeraj developed a habit of fighting over petty issues, even on behalf of his friends. He often received insults and beatings from his father for his actions.

Neeraj Bawana belongs to a Jat family. His father, Prem Singh, was a bus conductor for the Delhi Transport Corporation. His mother’s name is Sudesh Kumari. He has an elder brother, Pankaj Sehrawat.
Step into the Underworld
Sehrawat started committing petty crimes like robbing people when she was ten years old. His first arrest was for a robbery in Haryana in 2004. Bawana served three months in jail and was later released on bail. Soon after, he was arrested again in 2005 for possessing weapons without a license. This time, he was imprisoned for two years in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. During his stint in Tihar Jail, Bawana met Fazal-ur-Rahman, a close associate of Dawood, who operated from Malaysia, Dubai, Nepal, and India and spent several months with him. From Fazal, Bawana learned the tricks of the trade, namely how to control the police and use technology without being tracked. Reportedly, it was Rahman who persuaded Bawana to venture into the extortion business by sharing the story of Dawood and his association with him.
Association & Competition with Neetu Daboda
Neeraj rose to fame after an argument with his partner in crime, Surendra Malik alias Neetu Daboda. While Neeraj is still fresh in the extortion business, Neetu is an established name in the criminal world. They joined hands at one point and together committed robberies, murders, and extortion incidents over the years. In 2011, Ajay alias Sonu Pandit, a resident of Tatesar village, Delhi, joined them. Slowly, Pandit becomes very close to Neeraj, and this becomes the reason for the distance between Neeraj and Neetu. Neetu feels that Sonu is inciting Neeraj against her and both of them can kill her. In 2012, Neetu kidnapped Sonu and brutally killed him. The incident resulted in a rift between Neeraj and Neetu. Bawana broke up with Neetu and started his own group. Since then, there have been many gang wars between the two groups. Many people have been killed in this group rivalry. Daboda later lost his life in an encounter with the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, but the gang rivalry continued.

Expanding his operations into extortion and contract killing, Bawana led his gang to greater heights. He started collecting money flow from factories operating in Bawana village. He is also involved in gambling and betting dens that operate within his area of influence. In 2015, he was arrested from the main Rohtak Road around 3:45 am when he was on his way to meet his family. Bawana was later sent to Tihar Jail in Delhi. In jail, he befriends Naveen Bali, Rahul Kala, Sunil Rathi, and Amit Bhura, all of whom later become part of his gang. Neeraj was first admitted to jail number 1 of Tihar Jail along with other prisoners. However, he was later transferred to a high security ward (jail number 2) after the Delhi police informed the jail authorities about him being in touch with his gang members inside and outside the jail. As of 2021, he still runs his gang from prison. His gang consists of more than 50 henchmen who are involved in cases of murder, robbery, extortion and extortion in Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Uttrakhand.
