Months after filing and dropping a federal lawsuit against Bravo and the “Real Housewives” franchise, NeNe Leakes believes she deserves to return to the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” show.
Back in 2020, Leakes left the program in the tenth season after being an original cast member from seasons one to seven. And while fans are sure to be excited to see her return, her accusations of discrimination against the show’s contestants may not be easily forgotten even after she has ended her court battle.

It was recently announced that former “RHOBH” star Brandi Glanville has reportedly confirmed her return to the franchise, prompting Leakes’ fans to declare that the icon deserves to return as well. Supporters write on Twitter:
“It’s amazing to me how everyone can get a chance to come back to this housewife show but @NeNeLeakes when we know it’s a Royal Housewife. Where is the grace?”
The 55-year-old fashion designer seemed to share the same sentiment as she retweeted the message, hinting that she has no qualms about making a comeback. Still, other fans weren’t so supportive, including one who wrote, “His ego and big mouth are getting to him. The claim caused it. There are other networks….”
Another commenter didn’t see the “DWTS” alum coming back as they stated after asking, “Would you rehire someone who sued you after you settled your case with them?”
Agreeing with users about the improbable comeback, one critic stated, “The “grace” baby was left with a lawsuit. There’s no denying she’s a Housewives icon, but she’s also responsible.”
Recalling her lawsuit against the “RHOA” cast, she alleges they were guilty of fostering a workplace environment that allowed the show’s staff to use racial slurs and portray disrespectful behavior.

However, the suit was dropped in August without prejudice, and Leakes did not pursue compensation for his legal expenses. The Blast reports that court records show that he has finished suing the defendant; Bravo, “RHOA,” executive producer Andy Cohen, NBCUniversal, True Entertainment and Truly Original.
The document reads, “Leak hereby dismisses this action and all claims asserted by Leak without prejudice, thereby settling this case before this court at this time.” A dismissal without prejudice indicates that the case can be refiled in the future if the accuser decides to do so. In addition, court records state:
“All Parties agree and set the above dismissal. Neither party will seek recovery of costs or attorneys’ fees in any submission to this court.”
As for the lawsuit filed in April, documents show that “The New Normal” actress pointed to former “RHOA” co-star Kim Zociak-Biermann who she claims was “racially insensitive” in certain scenes.
He accused Zolciak-Biermann of making racially discriminatory remarks while “allowing and allowing to engage in racially offensive conduct” without the network reprimanding him.
Despite naming his former co-workers in the suit, he did not name them as defendants, meaning the case focused solely on franchisees. Before exiting “RHOA” for good in 2020, Leakes had a guest role on the show in season eight and boycotted season nine.

However, she made a full comeback in the tenth season, where she had a social media clash with Bravo and Cohen. He expressed feelings at the time, asserting that he wasn’t appreciated enough as “the only Black OG” every season while his “white counterparts were promoted and given full season episodes.”

About two months after Leakes sued Bravo and the “Real Housewives” creators, Zolciak-Biermann slammed the allegations during an appearance on “OWN’s The Nightcap” Carlos King for a special reunion episode.
The Blast shared that the housewives featured in the first few seasons of “RHOA”; mother of six, DeShawn Snow, Lisa Wu, and Sheree Whitfield, were present, except for “The Celebrity Apprentice” star who was given her suit.
During the episode, when Zolciak-Biermann was asked what she thought about the accusations, she called the allegations about her lies that she believed Leakes was aware of. He said:
“I mean, he knows what he’s saying isn’t true about me. That didn’t make sense, and he knew it. So I’ll deal with him when he’s done with them.”
