Leakes shared with fans via Instagram Stories that Brett Leakes is not on the road to recovery and health after suffering a heart attack and stroke earlier this week in Atlanta.
“Two weeks ago today, Brentt had congestive heart failure and a stroke, he’s only 23, so he’s still young for something like that to happen to him.”
He went on to share that several tests were run on his son including a drug test and an alcohol in the system test and he was clean on that part. Leaks know this but docs want to rule out anything possible at all.

Tears welled up in the reality star’s eyes as she went through several possibilities that could cause her son to develop serious health problems including COVID-19, the delta variant linked to heart attacks and strokes in young people.
Even after all the tests, “we’re still trying to figure it out,” she admits to sharing that knowing the cause is an important part for her and the doctors.
As a mother, Leakes was shocked by what happened to Brentt, just a few years after she lost her husband, Brent’s father, Gregg Leakes to an ongoing battle with cancer.

The mother expressed some of her feelings to her followers. “It was very scary,” Leakes said, clearly fighting back tears. “I don’t want to go into detail about what happened, how I found out, what condition he was in, and obviously the stroke was a very serious thing and he was struggling,” he admitted.
Specifically, NeNe mentioned that Brentt’s speech has been affected by a stroke, one of the more noticeable symptoms of a massive stroke. She continued to hold back tears as she asked for his “thoughts and prayers”.
“This is a lot, right now, on me,” he admitted. The reality star can’t seem to believe that she’s in this situation. In fact, he admitted, they were “just shocked”.

The reality star also took the time to send well wishes to those who wanted to send Brentt and her gifts and flowers. “Please don’t,” he said. “Honestly, we prefer balloons,” and soon he will send something through his person where his fans can donate and help organizations that deal with this kind of thing.
She also confirmed that she won’t reveal where Brentt is but she reminded followers that “a few years ago I had a blood clot in my lung and we couldn’t figure out where it came from.” Now the doc thinks that Brentt “may have been born with something” that caused this condition so early in life.
“We don’t know, it’s just a lot for us now and it’s all very new,” he reiterated. The leak goes on to share that he can reveal more when he feels the need to do so. For now, he is asking for prayers and well wishes for Brentt and his family.
