For 60 years, the Golden Globes have hired child actors to accompany award winners on stage. Now that baby Nepo is out, that tradition has been done away with.
Baby Nepotism Fall Hard

In the last few weeks, the conversation about nepo baby privileges has heated up again. It certainly wasn’t the first time that conversation had happened but for some reason, this time, it stuck.
No reason has been given but we do know that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, otherwise known as everyone who votes for the awards show is getting an overhaul. The association hopes to improve diversity, inclusion, transparency, you know all the things that many organizations have neglected for decades.
This year, the Globes will be held on January 10 and hosted by Jerrod Carmichael. It was not revealed how the awards will now be presented or whether anyone will accompany the celebrities on stage.
Past Golden Globe babies

Some of today’s most popular actors and actresses have had the chance to be Golden Globe babies. Melanie Griffith whose mother was Tippi Hedren took on the role in 1975, and her daughter Dakota Johnson did the same in 2006.
In 1986 it was Laura Dern’s turn whose father was Bruce Dern and whose mother was Diane Ladd. All of Sylvester Stallone’s daughters also got their chance in 2017. “Isan Elba, Idris’ daughter got a shot in 2019.
Finally, the last ambassadors are Jackson and Satchel Lee, Spike Lee’s twin son and daughter in 2021. There is no Golden Globes ceremony in 2022 so they hold the title of nepo baby.
Baby Nepo Fights Back

Many nepo babies talk about the conversation that surrounds them and let’s be honest, it might have the opposite effect they want. Many followers of the trend tend to hit back harder every time one of the nepos speaks up.
Zoe Kravitz, whose mother is Lisa Bonet wrote it like this. “It is common for people to be involved in family businesses. It’s exactly where the family name comes from. You’re a blacksmith if your family is, like, a Black family.
Lily-Rose Depp, Johnny Depp’s daughter does not see the connection between her surname and her career.
“People are going to have preconceived ideas about you or how you got there, and I can definitely say that nothing is going to get you the part unless it’s right for the part … The Internet cares more about who your family is than the people who cast you are in something. Maybe you’re stuck at the door, but you’re still at the door. There is a lot of work to come after that.”

He was quick to humble himself when followers of the trend reminded him that he was a 5’2 runway model basically impossible for anyone else that tall.

“I think the only way to deal with the nepotism thing – which definitely gives you a big advantage in life – is, you will get opportunities for free, but the opportunities will be endless. So you have to keep working and doing a good job. If you do a bad job, opportunities will stop. That’s my ethos.”

So many other celebrities commented on the conversation such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Hailey Bieber, Lourdes Leon, The Beckham children, really, it’s endless.
The Golden Globes Have Their Own Drama

The award shows that the measures to eliminate nepotism are actually the least of their problems at the moment and are considered to help the band to cover the real drama. Before all this nepo talk, it was discovered by the LA Times that the organization had zero black members on their HFPA board.
They are also accused of unethical behavior. Board members were also told to stop accepting any kind of gifts and, they opened a hotline for board members to report misconduct.
GG now boast ahead of the Peacock television show that they have the most diverse membership of all awards ceremonies and etiquette.
