Jonathan Majors’ sentencing has been adjourned to a new date. The delay came after his defense team filed a motion to postpone the hearing.
A six-person jury found Majors guilty of reckless assault in the third degree, a misdemeanor and harassment last December. The charges stemmed from an incident involving him and his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in which he assaulted her after he found texts on her phone indicating he was cheating.

Majors was initially set to receive his sentence on February 6, 2024. However, it has now been postponed to April 6 when his defense team filed a motion on Monday to set aside the decision.
According to reports, the “Creed III” actor appeared almost for the hearing before prosecutors argued that they needed more time to respond to the motion.
The case, which has received widespread attention, revolves around allegations brought against Majors by his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, over an incident that occurred last year.
Jabbari revealed in his testimony that while they were sitting in the backseat of an SUV, he found a text that read “Oh, I want to kiss you,” suggesting he was cheating on her and grabbed the phone from the actor.
Majors then proceeded to allegedly hit her on the head and injure her in the process of trying to get her phone back.

In a trial in December, a six-person jury found the former Marvel star guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and guilty of harassment. The decision was made after a long trial that lasted several days.
At the time, Majors wore a gray suit and black shirt and tie to court, and was accompanied by his attorney, family members, and his new girlfriend, actress Meagan Good.
He was acquitted of willful assault in the third degree and found not guilty of aggravated harassment in the second degree.
In a statement after the verdict, his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said Majors “hopes to clear his name completely.”
He continued, “Mr. Majors is grateful to God, his family, his friends, and his fans for their love and support during these eight sad months.”
The actor was slammed by legal experts for his interview on ‘GMA’

Last January, the actor gave an interview on “Good Morning America” in an attempt to be “brave and responsible” for his account, in which he declared himself innocent.
He denied Jabbari’s claims, adding that he had never hit a woman or engaged in domestic violence in any of his previous relationships. He seemed to maintain his innocence, declaring that he did not know where Jabbari suffered the injury and insisting that he had “no question” about him being the cause.
“I shouldn’t be in the car. I shouldn’t have gotten out of the relationship. I shouldn’t be in that relationship,” he said. “If I hadn’t been in the car, none of this would have happened.”
The move drew outrage from legal experts, who noted that the actor’s actions were “highly unusual,” as most defendants prefer not to give interviews between convictions and sentencing for fear it could affect the outcome.

follow THRMajors was previously rumored to avoid prison time, but his interview appears to have changed that dynamic according to Cary London, who is a civil rights and criminal defense attorney at Shulman & Hill.
“Judges have a variety of tools that can be used to impose sentences, including anger management, community service, other programming, and prison time. If the defendant says anything to upset the judge or insult the integrity of the judicial system, I can see the judge giving him a taste of jail,” London said.
Jonathan Majors Still Hopeful With His Hollywood Career

Elsewhere in her interview on “Good Morning America,” Majors shared her confidence about continuing her Hollywood Career.
The actor was asked if he believed he would ever work in Hollywood again, and he replied, “Yes, I do. I pray I do.
He also expressed “shock” at the verdict, saying, “How is that possible? Based on the evidence, based on the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence.”
Since his conviction in December, his career has been in decline. Marvel Studios dropped him from their upcoming film, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” as well as his PR firm, The Lede Company, and his manager at Entertainment 360.
