Meghan McCain has opened up about the pressure to lose weight quickly after giving birth.
Just a month after the television personality welcomed her second daughter, Clover Jade, with her husband, Ben Domenech, she revealed that she was forced to take Ozempic to lose the extra baby weight. The drug, originally prescribed for diabetics, has become a quick fix for weight loss after going viral on social media last year.

McCain is the latest celebrity to join the fight against the use of Ozempic as a quick fix to lose excess weight. The daughter of diplomat Cindy McCain and politician John McCain addressed the drug use epidemic in an op-ed piece she titled, “I just had a baby and I’m being pushed to take the Ozempic ‘magic shot’ as an immediate fix … It’s horrible, unfair and interrupt — and I refuse.”

The public figure began by mentioning that she welcomed her baby “four weeks ago, and you won’t believe what I heard.” In addition to answering the usual and expected questions, McCain revealed that people have also asked him if he plans to take Ozempic.
The mother of two explained that there is a “craze sweeping the country” in the form of a “new ‘miracle’ drug” that “can just melt the pounds” for “a cool $1,000 a pop.”
McCain then highlighted several celebrities who have previously interacted with the drug, including businessman Elon Musk, comedian Chelsea Handler, and reality star Kyle Richards, who has denied taking it even though he recently appeared with “new abs.”
At one point in Daily Mail piece, the author noted that because he wasn’t one of those “people who legitimately struggle with obesity and needed Ozempic,” he was surprised that “casual friends” and “industry contacts” asked him about using it. However, his stance on delaying the line was clear as he stated:
“Alright, let me make one thing clear. I didn’t take it. I refused. There is a clear moral issue here. It’s hard to take drugs because swimsuit season is almost upon us, while others need them to survive. And how can this be healthy?”
The former “The View” star added that Ozempic abuse would sabotage years of progress made on body positivity. McCain is more concerned about how continued use of the drug will affect the lives of his daughters – including two-year-old Liberty Sage – and their view of beauty.

“This is not the world I want for them, and it’s not the world I want for myself,” the Daytime Emmy Award nominee wrote before concluding, “As for Ozempic, I’d rather have a few extra pounds than shoot myself up with medication. Nothing worth having is easy to come by. And that goes for my health and my daughter’s health.”

The “Daily Beast” alum wore no jewelry or makeup, suggesting that she was enjoying some downtime before the craziness of the day began. However, she used a glam filter to even out her skin tone, writing, “2 whole weeks as a mother of 2 daughters I’ve managed to turn into a human cow- just milking all day… ?,” across the image.
In a previous update, McCain had told her fans that her only regret after “a full week as a mother of two daughters” is that she didn’t “do it sooner.” The 38-year-old also shared his realization: “All the clichés are true, it really is the best thing to happen in life ❤️.”
