An Ohio couple’s honeymoon in the Caribbean ended in tragedy when the husband was killed in a freak water skiing accident just three days after they tied the knot.
Nate and Mariana Kuhlman, of Steubenville, were married on October 28 and went to St. Lucia, where he died three days later, according to the GoFundMe page.
“Nate was a wonderful husband, friend, son, and brother in Christ,” the page said.
No further details were given about the accident.
The newlyweds are alumni of Franciscan University in Steubenville, WFLA reported.
“He was able to talk to everyone he met and those who were blessed to be in contact with him would be able to tell a list of stories detailing how fun, kind and challenging his soul was. Nate tragically lost his life three days after his wedding,” the GoFundMe page said.

“Words cannot describe the sadness that exists for his story and for his family. We are asking for help to help with funeral and travel costs for the family,” he added.
A second GoFundMe page states “Donations will help cover last minute plane ticket expenses to St. Lucia and return home, immediate passport issuance, transportation, lodging, meals, funeral arrangements, Mariana’s needs and anything else that arises.
“Please also pray for the family, for their strength, and for God’s presence to fill their hearts,” the fundraiser said.

The two accounts raised more than $100,000 combined as of Tuesday morning.
Nate’s mother, Heather Kuhlman, wrote on Facebook last week that she flew to St Lucia after her son was “in the arms of Jesus.”
“Nate’s death shocked us all and just took a deep breath,” she wrote. “With God’s permission, we are ok. It is very difficult and painful, but we walk each day one at a time.”

Heather wrote that her faith in Christianity helped her and her family through suffering.
“I am sad that Nathaniel is no longer with us, but I know he is still alive in heaven and will be praying for us,” she wrote.
“Please keep us in your prayers as we bring Nate home,” she added in her final post.
