The wedding, which was officiated by her on-screen uncle, played by Jesse Tyler Ferguson, was originally set to take place in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 restrictions, they had to postpone the wedding.

Speaking about how they met, Hyland made the revelation in an interview on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” how Adams got into his DMs. “I thought he was funny, and he was a fan of my show. I saw him as a bartender, and I was like, That’s so cute!” he confessed. She added that she felt her approach was the right balance of sexy and not aggressive at all.

Fans of both will remember that in 2019 the 38-year-old asked her to marry him with a beachside proposal. Hyland shared the photo on Instagram, showing her not-her-husband kneeling with the ring on her hand while holding her hand to her mouth in shock.

Ferguson shared details of her impromptu duties during the former “Modern Family” co-star’s wedding. The Blast reports that the 46-year-old brought his fun-loving personality to officiate the wedding.

It turns out that the duty was given to him because the person who was originally meant to do it couldn’t do it. The “Web Therapy” actress revealed to ET that Ty Burrell was originally meant to officiate but was unable to due to a family emergency.

Burrell, who played Hyland’s dad in the series, was honored for their friendship over the years. Ferguson recounted that he got a phone call 12 days before the wedding, and that’s why the father of two wasn’t there; “he has business.”

He also mentioned that while panicking about the commitment, he called Burrell to receive some much-needed pointers. Explaining why he panicked, he said:

“It will be a wedding, and it will be in Vogue magazine, and there will also be paparazzi pictures of me from the helicopter, officiating, without pressure.”

She concluded by stating that they had no problem comparing notes to come up with what would be best for her big day and it was an honor to be able to help the 55-year-old veteran actor and officiate the ceremony.
