Nia Long Scores $32,500 A Month In Child Support From Custody Settlement

Nia Long and her ex, Ime Udoka have settled their custody battle, and the famous actor will get over $32,000 in monthly child support.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former couple will share joint custody of their 12-year-old son, and Long will receive $32,500 in monthly child support.

Nia Long & Ime Udoka Reach Agreement On Custody & Child Support Issues

In the settlement, negotiated by Long’s attorney — Samantha Spector — the actress gave her ex-boyfriend a break on support since he is a high-income actress and businessman.

The settlement states that since Udoka’s monthly disposable income is $465,804, and their son lives with her 95% of the time, the payment for child support is $56,389. However, the couple, who separated in 2022 following revelations about Udoka’s involvement with a Boston Celtics employee, have agreed to receive a monthly payment of $32,500 per month.

As for the timeshare, Udoka, as the head coach for the Houston Rockets, has extensive travel commitments this season and the potential playoffs in the postseason.

For the current 2023-2024 season, the parents agreed that, for child support calculations, Udoka had less than 5% time-sharing with their son, while Nia had about 95% time-sharing with the 12-year-old in Los Angeles, California.

In the agreement, Udoka is entitled to reasonable visitation, taking into account the child’s schedule and concerns but not interfering with his time with Udoka.

The concerned parties will work together to facilitate the visit of NBA coaches. Udoka will provide Long with written notice and plans for the expected visit by email at least ten days in advance.

According to the agreement, Udoka will retain their child’s health and dental insurance, and she and Long will make decisions about the youngster’s health, education and welfare collaboratively.

In case of disagreement, Nia holds the authority to make decisions for him, with prior notice to his ex-partner, except for routine medical matters and emergencies.

Nia Long & Udoka Fight Over Child Custody

As we reported, a few months ago Nia Long filed legal documents to obtain sole physical and legal custody of her son, with visitation rights for Udoka.

In the document, Long asked his former flame to cover all attorney fees related to the case. The move immediately marks the early stages of a custody battle that could involve discussions about child support.

In fact, Udoka responded to her filing by issuing one of her applications for joint custody of their baby boy. NBA coaches are asking for shared physical and legal custody, including equal authority in important decisions such as medical care, schooling and religion.

Udoka also expressed her willingness for “visitation” in the legal filing, suggesting a preference for the child to live with Long for school-related reasons, with visitation during holidays or summer vacation.

Udoka’s breakup with the “Boyz n the Hood” cast drew widespread attention due to accusations of infidelity.

As previously mentioned, the former basketball player faced a suspension from the Celtics after engaging in “an intimate and consensual relationship with a female member of the Celtics staff.”

In response, he issued a statement expressing regret and accepting the team’s decision, declaring, “Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not comment further.”

Long later shared the emotional toll their son was going through following the split, revealing that he continues to struggle with the situation.

He expressed sadness at witnessing his son’s predicament, highlighting a particularly challenging moment when the Celtics organization made “a very personal situation public,” prompting him to pull him from school that day.

The “If These Walls Could Talk 2” star added, “No one from the Celtics organization called to see if I was OK, to see if my kids were OK, It was very frustrating.”
