Nick Cannon Hospitalized Following Pneumonia Health Scare

“Wild n’ Out” host and creator Nick Cannon was recently hospitalized with pneumonia. The father of 11 suffered from chronic lupus after being diagnosed in 2012. At the time, he revealed that he had to change several aspects of his life, such as work habits and diet, to keep the disease life-threatening.

Cannon just hosted his Wild ‘N Out tour live at Madison Square Garden, New York, on December 1st. The show included some of the original stars, such as Justina Valentine, Rip Michaels, Pretty Vee and a few more, Cannon included.

Although the sold-out show was a success, with thousands of fans singing along with the presenter, the father-of-one has just revealed that he recently contracted pneumonia as an after-effect. He expressed his disbelief at the turn of events but assured fans that he just needed time to rest and recover.

Barely a day after finishing his sold-out show at Madison Square Garden, Cannon announced that he had been diagnosed with pneumonia. The actress shared two photos on her Instagram page with a face mask, beanie, and hospital gown in a hospital room.

In the caption of the post, Cannon revealed that he “promised myself I would never come back to this place again.” He also emphasized the importance of taking care of yourself before extending that care to others. “But it’s a great lesson to take care of YOU, or YOU won’t be able to take care of anyone else,” the show’s host said.

He continued, “Don’t stumble, though; I don’t need any good wishes or prayers, just a good rest, and I’ll be back on my way to being stronger than ever. It’s just pneumonia, nothing I can’t handle.”

Cannon Was Diagnosed With Lupus In 2012

In January 2012, Cannon was diagnosed with lupus nephritis, a lupus disease of the kidneys. After a series of worsening symptoms, the actor sought medical attention and was admitted to hospital on January 4, 2012, and was given a diagnosis after tests were carried out. While speaking with Lupus.org, she revealed that the disease was explained to her as not life-threatening as long as she ate right, took care of her body, and rested.

“It was explained to me that it is an autoimmune disease and if I manage it properly and take the right medication, it is not life threatening. I just have to be careful, eat the right diet, get the right amount of rest, and take care of my body, and I’ll be able to fight it,” Cannon said. Lupus.org.
