According to Pop!, “The X Factor UK” recently honored the Anglo-Irish boy band’s twelfth anniversary by releasing a new video about how the group was formed. It should be noted that the clip has never been seen before.

As fans recall, the five members of One Direction — Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson — met as contestants on the UK show’s seventh season in 2010. They were all solo contestants at the time and had been down on their luck when they are rejected from the Bootcamp program.

However, their luck improved after the judges scrutinized the contestants and selected five men to form a group. They were allowed to remain part of the competition as a group and eventually became known as One Direction.

Celebrating the success, a throwback video released by the talent show revealed the discussions among previous judges, Scherzinger, Simon Cowell, and Louis Walsh, that led to the group’s formation.

The lead singer of The Pussycats Dolls can be seen taking pictures of the boys and lining them up to show the other judges his thoughts on putting them together as a group. She said, “They’re the cutest boy band. I love it. Little girls would love them. I think they’d be really cool in a boy band together.”

Scherzinger is recognized for bringing her ideas to life because she believes in the singer’s abilities and never gives up on them. It’s a shame the band broke up in 2016; they have been performing together for five years.

It’s not news that fellow judge Cowell is believed to be responsible for bringing the boys together to form a band over the years, but with the new recording, Scherzinger is getting some much-deserved recognition.

In a Metro report, the video was released after former member Payne, claiming to be the first member of 1D, believes the judges started with his face and “overwhelmed the rest.” However, the new clip proves otherwise.

Meanwhile, during a recent appearance on Sherri Shepherd’s show, Scherzinger joked that she thought Cowell wouldn’t let the video go public because he thought she had burned it. He went on to express his delight at playing the role after admitting that it was “really cool” the footage was released as people now see him as the man behind One Direction.

Former “DWTS” Winner Has No Beef With Pussycat Dolls Members Despite Past Allegations

Earlier this month, The Blast reported that Scherzinger and fellow Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt appeared to be on good terms following several accusations leveled at the “Moana” actress.

It was also revealed that band creator Robin Attin accused him of recently threatening to pull out of the band’s reunion unless he was given a majority stake.

In addition, he allegedly wanted “full creative control” and “ultimate decision-making authority.” Scherzinger previously denied the allegations; however, Attin still sued him, leading to counter-lawsuits from the 44-year-old.

Unfortunately, legal issues halted plans for the girls’ reunion, but Wyatt revealed in an interview with Closer that they’re all on good terms despite how “desperate” they all are to get together.

She said, “There’s no falling out with Nicole — I’m friends with all the girls, and I hold everyone in a beautiful space. I think women supporting women is really important. I really think we’re going to stand up for that.”
