Model Nicole Williams English and former NFL player husband Larry English welcomed their first child together on Friday, January 13 in Los Angeles.
The two told PEOPLE that their daughter, India Moon English, weighed 6 lbs., 11oz. and measured 19 inches long at birth.
“Our sweet baby girl is here and we are in love!!!” he told the magazine. “We went for our routine fetal monitoring appointment, and it turned out I had preeclampsia. My doctor said, ‘we’re going to have a baby like this, TODAY.'”

“We drove straight to the hospital, and within hours, our baby girl was in our arms. It was the scariest moment but once we both heard her cry, it was the happiest moment of our lives,” she continued. “Larry and I can’t stop staring at her!”
“I’m just taking time now to heal and recover and enjoy being her mother. We are very grateful to be blessed with a healthy baby girl. That’s all we want,” he continued, adding, “India Moon is surrounded by so much unconditional love. I’m really excited about this next chapter.”

In her latest Instagram post, the Canadian model shared a photo of herself sitting on a couch with her newborn daughter in her arms. In the caption, she talks about some of the challenges she faces as a new mom.
“I hardly ever take pictures in real time, most of my content is more thought out and planned so I wanted to give real time updates.. from my couch…in my mismatched sweats…hoping he slept long enough during I typed this caption with my one free hand,” he began.

“I have a head full of gray roots, I really need a manicure and you don’t want to see these toes! I haven’t done a skincare routine lately so my skin is thiiiirrrrsty!” he explained. “My shoulder smells like vomit, my right arm is completely numb from holding him because he wants to be held all day in the same position and my nipples hurt so I gave them a lunch break.”
“All this… and I’m at the highest and happiest level of my life,” he revealed. “Some days I wonder if I did something right. I often ask Larry if I’m weak at this and he always reassures me that I’m doing amazing and I’m a great mom. I know I am, but I second guess myself when he is unhappy and fussy.”

“Is he bored all day? Should I read it or play with it more? When she cries, I don’t think I know what she wants or how to calm her down,” she admitted. “Honestly I used to cry with him. I tried EVERYTHING until something worked. I still recognize his little face and the meaning of his different sounds and cries.”
“When he sleeps at night I’m supposed to be resting but I keep an eye on him and make sure he’s ok/breathing using my phone light to shine on him with every peep I hear,” she continued. “I always knew that I wanted to be a mother, it’s in my nature to care about others and share all the love that is deep in my heart BUT it’s true what they say… you can’t prepare yourself to be a mother. I literally wing it every day.”

“Even though my life has completely changed, I look dusty almost every day and barely have time for myself or to work anymore it’s all worth it!!” he concluded. “I mean, does it get any better than being forced to sit on the couch watching Love Island UK all day (Go Will and Jessie!!) with my baby lying in my arms?? What is life!!??”
