Soon after his birth, his family moved to Gokulam in Mysore, where he spent most of his childhood. He attended Mysore’s St. Joseph’s Central School and went to Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, Mysore, to pursue Civil Engineering. Nidhi was good at sports in her school days and won several gold medals at national level sports meets in sailing. He also holds the record of winning three gold medals in one calendar year at sports meets in sailing events at Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) and Chilka Lake (Orissa). During her college days, she was an NCC Navel cadet and won the best cadet award in 2004. When she was in her second year of college, Nidhi lost her interest in engineering and dropped out of the college. After that, she started taking modeling assignments.

Nidhi started her acting career in 2009 with the Kannada film “Abhimaan” where she played the role of ‘Aparna.’ In the same year, she made her Telugu film debut with the film “Sweet Heart” as ‘Meenakshi.’ She made her Bollywood debut in 2012 with the movie “Oh My God” as ‘Shweta Tiwari.’
