Two women who participated in “All American Girl” anonymously filed a lawsuit against British television executive Nigel Lythgoe, alleging sexual assault.
Court documents, obtained by The Blast, assert that Lythgoe engaged in “open groping” of them during filming of the 2003 series and continued with unwanted advances after the show ended.
Nigel Lythgoe Slammed By Two Janes In New Sexual Assault Claim
According to the documents, the two women claimed that Lythgoe would regularly enter their dressing room and “openly hit and grope” their bottoms while they were “taking photos and wearing dance costumes.”
The woman claims that the 74-year-old man took them to his home in Los Angeles after the after-party instead of taking them “back to the studio where everyone else goes.”

While at his home, the producer allegedly engaged in unwanted sexual acts, with one woman — Jane Doe KG — stating that he “covered her with his sweater” and tried to kiss her, but she pushed him away and “scrambled to get out of his grasp. “
Another – Jane Doe KN – claims he pinned her to a grand piano, trying to force her tongue into his mouth. The document reads:
“Later that night, Defendant NL pinned Plaintiff KN to the grand piano in the house, pushed himself against her body, and forced his mouth and tongue on her despite her numerous statements telling him not to and trying to keep her face away from his face. When Plaintiff KG saw this and objected, Defendant NL finally surrendered.”
The two unnamed women are collectively suing Lythgoe alleging sexual assault and battery, sexual harassment, negligence, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
The television mogul is also facing similar claims from US singer Paula Abdul, who contends that sexual assault allegations occurred during their collaborations on “American Idol” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”
In documents filed in December 2023, the “Opposites Attract” singer claims that Lythgoe was “verbally insulting and belittling” several times prior to the alleged “sexual assault” during one of the early seasons of “American Idol.”

According to the filing, Paula Abdul asserts that the show began around early 2001 when Fox approached her business manager about a judging role on “Pop Idol,” the upcoming American version of the British singing competition show.
After his meeting with executives and producers for the show, Abdul claims in the lawsuit that he was “verbally insulted and belittled” by Lythgoe, one of the executive producers. Lythgoe allegedly told Abdul that he was an “old” celebrity and would likely not be recognized by the show’s contestants.
According to a recently obtained lawsuit, the “Rush Rush” hitmaker claims that Lythgoe sexually assaulted her while on the road “during one of the early seasons of ‘American Idol.’ The newspaper revealed that immediately after finishing the audition, “Lythgoe and Abdul entered the elevator of the hotel where they were staying.”

It continued, “Upon entering the elevator, Lythgoe pushed Abdul against the wall, then grabbed her privates and breasts, and began sticking his tongue down her throat. Abdul tried to push Lythgoe away from him. When the elevator door to his floor opened, Abdul ran out of the elevator and into his hotel room. Abdul immediately called one of his representatives in tears to tell them about the attack.”
Abdul further stated in the lawsuit that he was assaulted again during dinner at the home of the former “Generasi Muda” dancer. At the dinner, she claims Lythgoe forced himself on her as she sat on her couch, tried to kiss her and suggested they would be a “power couple.” Abdul insisted that he reject her, expressed his lack of interest, and left.
Lythgoe Revisits Abdul’s ‘History of Erratic Behavior’ Amid Denying Allegations
Less than a week ago, The Blast reported that days after Abdul submitted the filing, Lythgoe spoke in his defense with a statement that began:
“To say that I am shocked and saddened by the allegations made against me by Paula Abdul is an understatement. For more than two decades, Paula and I have interacted as dear — and entirely platonic — friends and colleagues.
The director of “Superstars of Dance” added, “Yesterday, however, out of the blue, I learned about these allegations in the press and I want to clarify: not only is it false, it is very offensive to me and everything I do. defend it.” He concluded:
“While Paula’s history of erratic behavior is well known, I cannot pretend to understand exactly why she would file a lawsuit that she must know is untrue. But I can promise that I will fight this terrible slander with everything I have.”
