Nikki Bella opens up about the realities of motherhood and how challenging it is to raise her soon-to-be-three-year-old son.
The former professional wrestler not only dominated the wrestling world with his twin sister Brie for over a decade. She was a two-time WWE Divas Champion, with her 301-day reign being the longest reign for the now-defunct title.
However, despite Garcia’s track record as a champion and fighter, it seems that parenting is an area that requires more training for a mother of one.
Nikki Bella Gives Her Honest Thoughts About Raising Her Toddler Matteo
While the 39-year-old was excited after she and her husband, Artem Chigvintsev, welcomed their first child, Matteo, on July 31, 2020, they didn’t expect the emotional turmoil that comes with raising a child.

Gave an exclusive interview with E! News to talk about her life as a mother, the TV personality revealed that her two-year-old son “has the sweet soul of his father – I have a sweet son.” He also notes that she has a feisty side to him that he likes.
Garcia then got candid, sharing her relatable parenting moments. “The kid level, I’m not going to lie, has shaken me up a lot. I feel like I’ve been exhausted for almost three years, and I’m like, ‘Brie, when can I get my life back?’ he complained.
As you know, Brie, like her twin sister, is also a mother to her daughter Birdie, 6, and her son Buddy, who will be 3 years old, on August 1, just a day after her older cousin by a few hours.
The doting mom continued, “You go from teething to then just taking him to preschool and dealing with illnesses, and there’s always something. And Matteo also has a speech delay, so just dealing with that and doing therapy — so the toddler stage is definitely rocking me.”
Regardless of the problems that come with parenting a young child, the former wrestler still enjoys every moment he gets to spend with his son.
In his words, “I would say that I wish I could freeze this age because seeing him has his own personality but also having him all about mom – and dad too, but really a lot about mom – I just want to freeze it and I want keep him like this forever.”
Interestingly, parents have a sweet way of raising their sons. She went on to reveal, “He loves being with mom and dad. He literally every morning has to come to bed with Artem and me and be between us, and that’s a special thing for our family that we do. And I know it will become a core memory for him.”
While still on the subject of navigating parenthood, she declared, “I would say motherhood and parenting are definitely a lot harder than I imagined just because you have two different people.”
Relating it to her marriage, she added, “Like, you’re already trying to make a marriage work, we’re already combining it. But then Artem and I, we did things a little differently, we had kids first and then got married, so trying to be on the same page with everything, it’s tough, and definitely something we’re working on.”
Garcia’s revelation about her struggles with motherhood comes months after the mother of one revealed that she and Chigvinstev had to take their son to the emergency room. In November, the “Incomparable” author took to her Instagram to share the heartbreaking news with her fans.

He revealed in his caption, “Weeeeeek! Wrapped in a set. Had to take little Teo to the ER because of a bad cut on his finger. ? The worst feeling as a mom!!”
Within minutes of making the post, her loyal fans came to her comment section to wish her son a speedy recovery. One fan wrote, “Hard! I hope the baby boy feels better.”
Another wrote, “Hope Teo is okay after the trip to the ER because of the bad cut on his finger. Had to see him hurt. You all are an amazing family. Take care and love everyone. ❤❤❤.”
A third fan added, “Oh sorry about Matteo’s accident. But yes these things happen, I remember my son cutting his little finger on a spoke bike. He got 1 (one) stitch. To this day we call him “jahit” LOL ?. Hope he feels better.”
Feelings WWE Hall Of Famer Has Second Baby
While Garcia is still trying to adjust to the overwhelming feeling of motherhood, it may come as a surprise to some that the mother of one considered having another baby last year.

The retired wrestler revealed during a chat with her sister Brie on their podcast “The Bellas” that she approached her husband about “baby fever” and wanting to have a girl.
He said, “I spoke to Artem about baby fever. We had a big detailed conversation about it.” She continued, “I was like, ‘You know, I have baby fever, but I don’t know. Right now? Do you want to try for a girl? And actually, Artem was like, ‘We have to wait.’
He states that Chigvinstev wants them to wait and focus on Matteo, who is too young for a brother. The doting mother added that her husband wanted their son at four before they tried for a second baby, which she happily agreed to.
