Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley slammed the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris becoming commander-in-chief if Democrats cruise to victory in 2024, warning Fox News anchor Maria Bartiromo on Sunday that the notion should “chill every American.”
The former South Carolina governor, in her appearance, warned against voting for former President Donald Trump, who faces multiple allegations and has seen a series of long and disturbing legal battles.
“Donald Trump is my friend. It was an honor to serve in the administration and conduct foreign policy with him, and I agree with many of his policies. But the fact is, I don’t know if it’s four or five or six or how many indictments now, but he’s going to spend a lot of time in the courtroom and not on the campaign trail,” he said.
“My concern is that we cannot have Kamala Harris as president. We cannot take advantage of this. We need to make sure that we have a new generation of leaders who will bring in not only the Republicans, but we will take back the independent party. We’re going to bring back suburban women, we’re going to bring in Hispanics. We will bring in the Asian community. We need to make sure we win this, because the thought of Kamala Harris as president should send chills down every American spine.”
Haley, one of eight Republicans who appeared on the debate stage in Milwaukee last Wednesday, had previously warned against Trump’s re-election, despite previously serving in his administration.

He told Fox News’ Sean Hannity after the debate that the armed justice system was behind Trump’s legal problems, and that a win for Republicans was essential to solving that problem.
“You can’t clean up Washington if Donald Trump is fighting the issues of the past. We need a younger generation of conservatives who will go and clean up what they have done to Donald Trump but also take our country forward,” he told Hannity.
A recent Fox News poll showed that 53% of likely voters chose Trump out of the GOP field, still maintaining a 37-point lead over Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. Haley finished fifth out of the field, but he insists the race is far from over.

“It’s really just beginning,” he told Bartiromo Sunday. “So we’ve done 80 events and New Hampshire and Iowa. We will continue to be there. We have an event in South Carolina this week. We will continue to focus on touching as many hands as we can, answering every question.”
Haley emerged as one of the most prominent voices on abortion after Wednesday’s debate in which she called for a “consensus” on the issue.
On Sunday, he continued to insist that Republicans should “humanize” the issue and address it head-on instead of running away from it.
“[Republicans need to]admit that the issue is true. You know, I think I always say I’m unapologetically pro-life, not because the Republican Party tells me to, but because my husband is adopted. I had trouble having both of my children, so I was surrounded by blessings…”
“When we talk about federal laws, you know, it’s just frustrating that nobody is telling the American people the truth, that you have to have a House majority, that you have to have 60 Senate votes to pass a federal bill,” Haley added. “So no Republican president can ban abortion any more than a Democratic president can ban that state law. So if we really want to save as many babies as possible, if we want to support as many mothers as possible, then let’s find a consensus where we can do that.”
