Nikki Haley slams Donald Trump after $83M verdict: US ‘can do better’

Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley ripped GOP front-runner Donald Trump in the wake of the massive $83 million verdict he received for defaming author E. Jean Carroll — saying the country “could do better” than the former president.

“Donald Trump wants to be the presumptive Republican nominee and we’re talking about $83 million in damages,” Haley wrote on X after the jury revealed a shocking penalty Friday.

“We are not talking about setting boundaries. We’re not talking about dealing with inflation,” Trump’s UN ambassador once complained. “America can do better than Donald Trump and Joe Biden.”

His dig follows Trump’s own response to the ruling in Manhattan federal court.

“It’s ridiculous!” he raged on Truth Social, dismissing the trial as a “Biden-Directed Witch Hunt.”

Trump — who has pleaded not guilty to 91 felony counts in New York, Georgia, Florida, and Washington, DC — lashed out at his legal woes on Saturday, posting “LABORERS!!” and “DISTURB THE ELECTIONS!!” on social media.

Friday’s decision revives several statements Trump made against Carroll, who accused him of raping her in a Manhattan store dressing room on an unspecified date in the 1990s.

Trump has repeatedly denied Carroll’s claims — calling the “Ask E. Jean” columnist a “disgusting job” who will “pay dearly” for the allegations. But an earlier jury found Trump liable for sexual assault.

Haley returned to her home state of South Carolina on Saturday to drum up support ahead of the Feb. 24 Republican primary — where she trailed Trump by a 30-point margin, according to the RealClear Politics polling average.
