Nisha Upadhyay is an Indian singer and actress who is known for singing various Bhojpuri and other songs. He is famous for his live shows. In June 2023, he went viral when he was hit by a bullet during a live show.

Nisha Upadhyay was born on Friday, 12 April 1996 (age 27 years; in 2023) in village Gauhar Basant in Garkha tehsil of Saran district in Bihar, India. His zodiac sign is Aries. He was interested in music since childhood and used to sing in school level singing competitions. His singing talent was identified by his school teacher when he sang for the first time during a school event while studying in the third grade. He studied till class 12 at Mahavir Public School, Saran, Bihar. He later ventured into a career in the Bhojpuri music industry.

Singer
He started singing in 2017 with the audio album Danger Love which helped him create a lot of hype. He slowly became famous and sang both, devotional, especially Chath songs, and other Bhojpuri songs. Some of his hits include Saawariya in 2018, Darshan Kare Jaib in 2019, Sakhi Ke Yaar Pagla Gail Ba in 2021, and Pyar Mei Hoyi Badnami in 2023. He is also known for performing live concerts and has performed in many cities in India including Delhi , Mumbai and Kolkata.

Controversy
Violating the COVID-19 Protocol
On July 2, 2021, during her brother Ravi’s wedding, she did not follow the COVID-19 protocol as more than 50 people were partying in one area, and some of them were also not wearing masks. Many Bhojpuri singers performed at the wedding. When the matter was reported to the police, FIR number 463/21 was registered against him and 102 others under IPC section 188/269/270/34 & 3 Epidemic Disease and 09 bihar control and loudspeaker act 1955 at Garkha police station Saran district .

Road Accident by his Scorpio
On November 16, 2022, he was going to have a live show, and when he was in Ekma area of Saran district, the driver stopped the Scorpio SUV and opened the door. A motorcyclist named Dhananjay Mahto, aged 35, hit the open door and later died during treatment. Locals created an uproar in the area following the accident which forced him to lock himself inside his SUV. Police later arrived and were able to calm the crowd down. FIR number 448/22 has been registered against the absconding Scorpio driver under IPC section 279/304(A) at Ekma police station of Saran district.

Facts/Trivia
- His friends and fans call him Nishu.
- On May 30, 2023, he was performing live at Sendhuar village in Chapra when unknown persons fired celebratory shots. One of the bullets hit his left thigh after which he was rushed to Max Hospital in Patna. His condition was later declared stable. He said in an interview that he felt pain in his thigh; however, when he saw the blood, he realized that he had been hit by a bullet.
