Nishi Singh Bhadli (1974- 2022) was a popular Indian actor who mostly worked in the Hindi television industry. He is known for playing comedy roles in television series. He battled severe paralysis since 2019 and died on September 16, 2022. According to his family, he died two days after his 50th birthday.

Nishi Singh made his acting debut with the Hindi film ‘Monsoon Wedding’ in 2001. Monsoon Wedding was a Golden Lion Award winner and a Golden Globe Award nomination. In 2008, he started his own company to cast artists for Hindi films with his colleagues and cast all the child artists for the film Slumdog Millionaire.
Television
Nishi Singh appeared as Maina, the mother of Sunaina (Smita Singh) in the Hindi television show Hitler Didi in 2011, aired on Zee TV. He later worked in the series ‘Love Express’ in 2011. Love Express dramatizes the train journey of two families who try to arrange a couple’s marriage during the journey. In 2012, she worked in the famous television show Qubool Hai, which aired on Zee TV, and in that show, she appeared as Haseena Bi.
In 2016, he was cast in the show Ishqbazz on Star Plus. He then appeared in the show “Tenali Rama” on Sony SAB in 2017.
Death
On September 18, 2022, Nishi Singh Bhadli died in Mumbai, India after suffering a prolonged illness and bouts of paralysis, which he suffered in 2019 and 2020.

- According to her husband, daughter Nishi lives with them at their Mumbai residence, and their son lives at his maternal parents’ house in Delhi. In 2020, in an interview with a media house, he spoke about the financial situation of Nishi’s parents, and also revealed that he was rejected by his family when he started working in the Indian television industry. He said,
We cannot turn to our family, because his family is not financially strong and my family disowned me when I decided to join showbiz. We have been struggling and need help.”
- On 16 September 2022, Nishi Singh Bhadli celebrated his fiftieth birthday with his husband and daughter and died two days later. After her death, her husband, Sanjay Singh, said in a media interview that Nishi had her favorite besan ka laddoo on her birthday and seemed very happy. He said,
The biggest irony is that we celebrated his 50th birthday the day before yesterday (September 16). Even though he couldn’t speak, he looked very happy. I asked him to eat his favorite besan ka laddoo and he did.”
In the same conversation, Sanjay Singh revealed that in February 2019, Nishi Singh suffered a paralytic attack and again in August 2020. In May 2022, he fell seriously ill. She adds that their daughter quits exams and skips school to take care of her mother, and she also turns down many job offers because she has to take care of Nishi all the time. He said with a heavy heart that he sold his house and car to cover Nishi Singh’s medical expenses. Some of his colleagues Ramesh Taurani, Gul Khan, Surbhi Chandna and CINTAA helped them financially.
