It would be “absolutely foolish” for Prince Andrew to try to find his way back into public life, a royal expert has warned.
Royal author Russell Myers believes the UK has no appetite for the return of the Duke of York as a working royal after his fall from grace.
The scandal-plagued royal, 63, who was famously stripped of his royal and military honors by his late mother, has been keeping a low profile since his reputation was dealt a cruel blow.
“We look back at the Queen’s death as not only a monarch leaving this world, but also a grieving family and we have to be very sensitive to that,” Myers told Sky News Australia.
“And this is a personal reminder, this is a man who has lost his mother and the family is still accepting him.”

“If Prince Andrew tried and found his way back into public life, I think that would be very foolish,” she said, adding, “I don’t think people would appreciate it.”
A strong rebranding is much needed for the duke after a string of controversies plagued his reputation.
The disgraced royal, who was barred from using the name DYMM (“Your Majesty”) following her alleged friendship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, also lost her patronage last year.

While he was still a Knight Royal of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, he was told face to face by his mother that he was no longer known as Her Royal Highness.
The late monarch, who was 96 when he died in September 2022, broke the news to the father-of-two at Windsor Castle in January last year.
The withdrawal of Andrew’s official royal label comes amid his sexual assault case filed by Virginia Giuffre, who has long claimed that Epstein told her to have “disgusting” sex with the royal three times, starting in 2001 when she was just 17.
Andrew’s lawyer said he “vehemently denies Giuffre’s false allegations against him.” He settled the case out of court for an undisclosed amount last February.
