The former member of the popular girl group Fifth Harmony is known for thrilling her fans around the world with her beautiful music and equally sultry videos. Now, the hard-working star is all set to make her TV screen debut in a thriller set in the 80s with a star-studded cast.

Firmly making waves in the industry, the 26-year-old is set to take the movie world by storm in “Freaky Tales,” co-written and directed by Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden of “Captain Marvel.” list of big industry names.
Set in Oakland in 1987, it’s an innovative and riveting film inspired by Ryan Fleck’s childhood experiences on the bay. The film consists of four interconnected stories with different characters, real-life locations and significant historical events (some real, some imagined).

While principal photography begins on November 14, other actors include Jack Champion of “Scream 6”, Dominique Thorne of “Black Panther”, Angus Cloud of “Euphoria”, Keir Gilchrist of “Atypical” and Michelle Farrah Huang.
Jen Gorton, Jillian Share and Chanel Vidal of eOne will be responsible for producing the film, with Share and Gorton executive producing. At the same time, Jelani Johnson and Poppy Hanks of MACRO Film Studios will serve as producers.

Other executive producers are Charles D. King, James F. Lopez and Too Short, and his manager is David Weintraub. For music, Oakland native “Grammy Award” winner Raphael Saadiq will be in charge.

Fans of the actress will remember that in 2012 she rose to fame after transitioning from auditioning as a solo act on the talent competition series “The X Factor” to a formed girl group.
