North Carolina pair ruthlessly attacks Chipotle worker during dispute over extra food cost

A Chipotle employee was held up and brutally beaten by two unruly customers who were informed they would be charged extra for chicken.

Jamel Bernard Williams, 36, and Kayla Nicole Pyle, 34, face charges for the aggravated assault of an unidentified employee at an Indian Land Chipotle on Dec. 10, according to the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

The suspects – both from Charlotte, North Carolina – arrived at the restaurant chain around 9pm when Plye placed her order and allegedly asked for extra chicken for her meal.

The 20-year-old Chipotle employee then informed Plye that it would be an additional cost for the extra protein, leading to a verbal altercation between the two, Queens City News reported.

The frustrated worker opted to leave work early because of the dispute, but the encounter soon turned violent on his way out.

As the employee was leaving the restaurant, Williams rushed into the store from a side entrance and assaulted the employee, according to police.

Williams, who stands at 6 feet 3 inches, 300 pounds, pushed the employee to the floor before he relentlessly pulled the woman’s hair and tossed her around as the customer yelled for the giant to “stop,” according to footage obtained by the store. .

Williams is seen towering over the small worker, appearing to step on him as he huddles to protect himself on the ground, the disturbing video shows.

The attack began after the worker allegedly told Plye that there would be an extra charge if she wanted more chicken in her meal. Queen City News

As the attack continued, Pyle rushed over and allegedly struck the worker in the head.

Williams and Plye fled the scene with a teenage boy, according to police.

The Chipotle worker was injured during the workplace assault but sought treatment on his own, and the extent of his injuries is unknown, police said.

The relationship between Williams, Pyle, and the teen is unknown.

Both suspects are currently being sought by police and their warrants have been entered into the national database for wanted persons. Queen City News

A strand of Williams’ hair was found at the scene and submitted to evidence for analysis.

Deputies said Williams and Pyle were identified with the help of Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department personnel.

“I don’t know what was said between Pyle and the victim, but the victim was on his way home and was chased from behind by Williams and attacked in the dining room of the restaurant,” Sheriff Barry Faile said in a statement on Friday.

“The attack was completely unjustified. I hope the victim has recovered from his injuries. I appreciate the help we got from Charlotte Mecklenburg PD in identifying Williams and Pyle, and I encourage them to turn themselves in and let the judicial system take its course in this case.”

Arrest warrants were issued for both Williams and Plye on Wednesday, police shared.

Williams has been charged with Assault and Battery in the First Degree, while Pyle faces charges of Assault and Battery in the Second Degree.

The village of Indian Land is located on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina and is located about 20 miles Northwest of Charlotte.

Earlier this month, an Ohio woman who threw a burrito bowl in the face of a Chipotle employee was sentenced to work at least 20 hours a week for two months at the restaurant.
