A High Point, North Carolina pastor was arrested last week after allegedly assaulting and trying to push his wife’s coworker’s head into a McDonald’s fryer, police said.
The High Point Police Department reported that on Dec. 28, a woman was training to be a manager at the S. Main Street McDonald’s location when an employee “disrespected” her.
As a result, the woman contacted her husband, Dwayne Waden, 57, to help the situation.
Witnesses told police that when Waden arrived, he walked into the McDonald’s then went around the counter before putting his hands around the victim’s neck.
After grabbing the victim’s neck, Waden allegedly pushed the victim’s head towards one of the frying machines in the restaurant, police said.
Waden also punched the victim several times in the face, police allege, and did not stop hitting the victim until several employees were able to pull Waden away from the victim.
The victim reportedly suffered “large bruising” to his forehead and right eye, police wrote, as well as scratches on his neck.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene, although the victim told her family to take her to the hospital.

Police said the officer was able to view surveillance footage of the incident before arresting Waden for assault and battery.
Waden was transported to police headquarters and posted a $1,000 bond. He will return to court Jan. 22.
Waden stated on his Facebook page that he is a semi-truck driver and a pastor at Elevated Life International Ministries.
