North Carolina woman collapses on live TV after winning $1M Powerball on New Year’s Eve

A North Carolina woman fell to the floor on live television when she became the first Powerball millionaire in 2024.

Pamela Bradshaw fell to the ground in shock after Ryan Seacrest called her number live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Night” just after midnight.

“Pamela! You are a millionaire!” Seacrest announced when Bradshaw fell.

After getting back to his feet, with the help of the host and his daughter Joanna Hinson, a shocked Bradshaw screamed, “Oh my God!”

The mother then “thanked god” for the once-in-a-lifetime moment.

“I’m so blessed,” she said as her daughter hugged her tightly.

Seacrest revealed that Bradshaw had promised to give his daughter “some” money and encouraged her to give Hinson the bulk of the cash.

This marks the second straight year a North Carolinian has won $1 million on New Year’s Eve, according to the North Carolina Lottery.

Bradshaw, who had never been to New York City before, won a VIP trip to New York City through a second-chance drawing held by the state lottery.

He became one of five Powerball players selected nationwide with a chance to win $1 million.

Not only was it the first time the Clinton woman had seen the Statue of Liberty, but it was the first time she had boarded an airplane, according to the NC Lottery.

“I cried on the plane ride and I cried at the Statue of Liberty,” he told the lottery. “It’s very unusual.”

Her VIP trip includes a four-day, three-night stay in the Big Apple.

Bradshaw said he wants to use the money to buy a house.

“I want to have my own house that is mine and I feel safe,” Bradshaw said of the lottery. “Not anything fancy or big, just a little cottage or something with one or two bedrooms.”
