James Corden may regret his explosive restaurant behavior, but the NYC restaurant that exposed him feels even more remorseful.
Earlier this week, the late-night talk show host was fired by Keith McNally, owner of Balthazar restaurant in New York City, for having terrible table manners.
Explosion reported McNally’s allegations and Corden’s subsequent apology.

Now, McNally admits she feels “weird” about the now-viral moment and is “very sorry” for Corden.
In an Instagram post published Tuesday, October 18, the famous restaurateur shared a photo of his daughter and her friend eating with him at Balthazar.
“With my daughter, Alice (in black) and her best friend, Margot Paisner, at Balthazar tonight.
Feeling weird about the James Corden thing,” he wrote. “In one sense, he must have mistreated my staff, on the other hand, I feel sorry for him now. Like most cowards, I want it both ways.”

McNally ended her half-hearted post, “F**k it, I’m going to get drunk.”
Things got so bad with Corden that McNally banned him from eating at Balthazar in Manhattan.
On October 17, McNally took to Instagram to share a pixelated photo of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” host along with some warm words.
“James Corden is a very talented comedian but a little Cretin. And the rudest customer to my waiter Balthazar since the restaurant opened 25 years ago,” the Londoner began.

James Corden Is a “Little Cretin of a Man”
McNally shared that she’s not usually one to call customers but she had to talk about the show’s host because of the way Corden treated his staff.
To make matters worse, the restaurant claimed that the English comedian had exhibited lewd behavior at his former restaurant, Cafe Luxembourg, several years ago.
The restaurant owner went on to cite two instances where the “Cats” star was hissy and mean to his staff.

Recalling his manager’s first report of Corden, McNally wrote, “In June, James Corden was here at table 61. (Although this is bad, it happens very occasionally in all restaurants.) After eating his main course, Corden showed the hair to Balthazar the manager of G. who is very apologetic.”

He continued, “Corden really hated G and said, “Give us a round of this second drink. And also take care of all our drinks so far. This way, I write any nasty reviews on yelp or anything like that.’”
The second incident occurred earlier this month on October 9, when Corden visited Balthazar with his wife for lunch and requested an outside table. His wife Julia Carey reportedly ordered an egg yolk omelet with gruyere cheese and salad.
McNally writes, “A few minutes after they received the food, James called their server, MK, and told her that there was some egg white mixed in with the yolk. MK informed the floor manager, G. Dapur remade the dish but unfortunately sent it with home fries instead of salad.”

It was at that mistake that the 44-year-old “Gavin & Stacey” star lost it and screamed like a madman at the waiter, saying, “You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go to the kitchen and cook myself an omelet!”
McNally shared that the waiter reached out to the manager, who came out to smooth things over, even offering them a promo Champagne glass.
As the negative press surrounding Corden went viral, the talk show host issued an apology.

McNally explained on Instagram, “aJmes Corden just called me and apologized profusely. After screwing myself up more than most, I’m a big believer in second chances. So if James Corden lets me host his Late Show for 9 months, I’ll revoke his ban from Balthazar. No of course not. But….anyone who is gracious enough to apologize to a deadbeat layabout like me (and my staff) doesn’t deserve to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthazar. So Back to 5 & Dime, Jimmy Corden, Jimmy Corden. All is Forgiven. Xx.”
