NYC retiree pummels Florida man for calling her an ‘Italian bitch’

You can take the septuagenarians out of Brooklyn, but you can’t take Brooklyn out of the septuagenarians.

A fiery New Yorker who retired to Florida was arrested Monday after lashing out at a man who called him an “Italian bitch” during a heated argument in a normally quiet Sunshine state community.

Linda Marie Caccese, 71, who was born in Brooklyn and later lived in Staten Island before moving south, said she had the right to attack her enemies – and insisted that she managed to land him some haymakers.

The fight was first reported by The Villages News.

Caccese, who lives in the sprawling The Villages retirement community, told The Post in an impassioned interview that a close friend of his lives in the same house as his fighter, whose identity has not been released.

“They were engaged, and she broke it off after she realized what kind of man he was,” Caccese fumed.

The pensioner explained that he went to their shared house because he needed his friend to help reconnect the bluetooth device for him.

“When I stopped, he came out of the house and cursed me, calling me various names,” she said. “He doesn’t like me, maybe because I took my friend out of the house that was like a prison for him.”

At one point, the man uttered a phrase the feisty Brooklynite couldn’t stand, calling Caccese “an Italian bitch.”

“I got angry,” he explained, recalling his enemy rushing back to his house and locking the door as Caccese sped toward him.

“Get out of here and say that!” he screamed. “Get out here and call me that!”

Afraid that he might break his door or break a window to make the man respond to the ethnic slur, the man reluctantly opens the door.

Caccese said he forcibly grabbed her arm and left bruises, arguing that she had to defend herself.

“We just started fighting,” he said, noting that he managed to connect several punches and straight shots.

Caccese was eventually arrested for battery rap. “They told me it was because I was on his property,” he said. “I tried to tell them that I was invited to come there.”

Eventually, the brash New Yorker was released on a $500 bond and pushed for the charges to be dropped.

After a reporter tried to ask one last question, Caccese interrupted.

“Look, I have to go,” he said sharply. “I have a doctor’s appointment.”
