Balancing In Legal Battles With Quality Control

Rapper Offset Sues Record Label For Claiming Cut Of His Solo WorkMEGA

follow TMZthe rapper has been embroiled in a legal battle with his record label, Quality Control, over the rights to his solo recordings.

The relationship between the two parties began in 2013 when Offset agreed to produce a solo record for the label but turned sour in 2015 when the record label allegedly entered into another deal with Capitol Records.

The effect of the partnership is that Quality Control owns 100% of Offset’s future solo records between 2018 and 2023, but the rapper claims that he and QC entered into a new deal in 2021 in which he regains the rights to his solo work.

Quality control won’t cut the rights for Offset because they claim they still own the rights due to the deal with Capitol Records, but Offset finds that laughable.
