The balance beam, often referred to as the “dance floor” in gymnastics, demands a different set of skills. It requires gymnasts to perform a complex sequence of acrobatic elements, dance moves, and extensions while maintaining perfect balance on a narrow four-inch-wide beam. Dunne’s performance not only met these criteria but exceeded them with unparalleled precision and composure.

During the season opener against Ohio State at the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championships, Dunne was instrumental in securing the victory for the LSU Tigers. Notably, she earned an impressive score of 9.875 on the floor exercise. In addition, she displayed commendable performances in pommel horse, parallel bars and ring events.
On December 16, 2023, the LSU Tigers kick off their season with Gym 101 at the Pete Maravich Convention Center in Louisiana. Dunne excelled in the floor exercise, performing a double somersault and ending the routine with a perfect double landing. His performance was part of 50 routines showcased by the Tigers, offering a preview of their skills ahead of the 2024 season. In total, nine athletes from the Tigers performed a combined 37 routines throughout the event.
