Singer Olivia Rodrigo has set the record straight about the ongoing whispers of an alleged feud with Taylor Swift.
The two have been linked several times in the press for various reasons. Rodrigo, 20, has been quite vocal about his admiration and love for the 33-year-old “You’re In Love” singer and has spoken openly about Swift’s artistic influence in his music.
The Disney darling’s first album was released to critical acclaim in 2021, and her follow-up, “GUTS,” was released on September 8.

In a recent profile with the New York Times, Rodrigo did not elaborate on when the “Fearless” singer grew up. The alleged beef reportedly stemmed from listeners’ reception of Swift’s name and that of her producer and friend Jack Antonoff being added as songwriting credits on multiple tracks from her first LP, “SOUR.”
According to one of our coverage, Rodrigo added credits for the duo to the fan favorite, “Deja Vu.” St. Vincent also reportedly received credit on the track. Rodrigo interpolates Swift’s recent number one hit, “Cruel Summer.” “Cruel Summer” originally appeared on 2019’s “Lover”.
“Get Him Back!” the singer also used chords from Swift’s “New Year’s Day,” which appeared on her 2017 LP “Reputation.”
Rodrigo explained the inspiration for the song, “When I come home [from a road trip]I decided to sing [deja vu] on the chords of ‘New Year’s Day.’ I think it’s a beautiful chord. Swift never responded to the rift rumors; he only had nice things to say about Rodrigo. The “Right Where You Left Me” singer sent Rodrigo a note two years ago in the midst of his early success.
