The director of the highly anticipated film, “Don’t Worry Darling,” is the cover star for October Vanity Fair.
In the issue she opens up about ‘DWD,’ her relationship with Jason Sudeikis, Harry Styles and the recent drama she’s been involved in.

Wilde Says He Fired LaBeouf From “Don’t Worry Darling”
“I say this as someone who greatly admires his work. The process does not fit the ethos I demand in my production. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require combative energy, and I personally don’t believe it’s conducive to the best performances,” explained Wilde. “I believe that creating a safe and trustworthy environment is the best way to motivate people to do their best work. Ultimately, my responsibility is to the production and the actors to protect them. That’s my job.”

Not long after Diversity published this interview, the “Honey Boy” actor denied Wilde’s claims.
LaBeouf claims HE STOPPED the movie, not the other way around.
He also shared two emails Wilde sent on August 24 and 25 that outlined his rejection.
LaBeouf wrote, “You and I both know why I quit. I quit your movie because of your cast and I couldn’t find time to rehearse.”

However, Wilde stood by his word and insisted HE was the one who let it go.
“My responsibility is towards him [Florence Pugh]. I’m like a mother wolf. Making calls was complicated, but in a way he understood. I don’t think it will be a process he enjoys,” he said. “He comes at his work with an intensity that can be aggressive. Not the ethos I demand in my production. I want him to heal and grow because I think it’s a great loss to the film industry when someone so talented can’t work.”
LaBeouf released text messages between him and Wilde, and also shared a video of Wilde begging him to give the film another go.
Regarding the release of the private message, Wilde claims it was taken out of context.

Wilde Insists He’s Replacing Shia LaBeouf

“This issue is far more nuanced than can be explained in a private text taken out of context,” he said Vanity Fair. “What I will say is that he has been replaced, and there has been no progress with him. I wish him the best in his recovery.”
Both LaBeouf and Wilde were recently in Venice, Italy to promote the film at the Venice Film Festival.
LaBeouf was at the festival to promote “Padre Pio” while Wilde was there to do press for ‘DWD.’
“That’s the way it is – every blessing to him and his film,” he told the publication.
