More than 170 people with ties to Jeffrey Epstein – including former employees and victims – are set to be named in a batch of court documents that a Manhattan federal judge ordered to be released in the coming weeks.
Judge Loretta Preska on Monday ordered the release of a batch of long-sealed documents in a defamation lawsuit settled by Epstein’s accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre against convicted pedophile Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.
Under the ruling, dozens of individuals — previously identified only as “Jane Does” or “John Does” in various court filings linked to the suit — may be identified when materials tied to them are “fully released.” ”

The judge gave the individual 14 days to appeal the decision, according to Monday’s order.
Some of those who may be named have already spoken out in media interviews about their working relationship with Epstein – or how they were abused by him over the years, the state ruled.
A handful of Dids, however, will remain anonymous in court filings after a judge ruled they were charged as minors as victims of sexual abuse.

Others will also be spared because revealing their names in certain court papers would “reveal sensitive information about alleged minor sexual abuse victims who have not spoken publicly and who have maintained their privacy,” the judge said.

Previously sealed court documents tied to Giuffre’s defamation suit against Maxwell, which they finally settled in 2017 for an undisclosed sum, have been out for years.

The defamation suit centers on Giuffre’s claim that Maxwell defamed him by saying that he lied about being sex-trafficked by Epstein when he was a teenager.
Maxwell was convicted in late 2021 of recruiting and grooming underage girls for Epstein to abuse between 1994 and 2004.
Epstein committed suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on related sex abuse charges.
