Oviya started her acting career by playing supporting roles in films. She made her acting debut with the 2007 Malayalam film “Kangaroo” as ‘Susanna.’

He later worked in films like Puthiya Mukham (2009) and “Apoorva (2008)”. She made her Tamil debut with the film “Naalai Namadhe” as ‘Aishwarya’ in 2009. She was furthering her studies when director Sargunam offered her the lead role of ‘Maheshwari’ in the Tamil film “Kalavani” in 2010.

This caused him great frustration and caused him to commit suicide.
