Ozzy Osbourne has given fans a new update on his health.
Following the cancellation of several shows earlier this year, the Black Sabbath frontman has confirmed he will undergo a fourth surgery related to structural damage he suffered after a fall in 2019. He originally injured himself during a quad bike accident on his estate in 2003, resulting in several surgeries with the latest occurring in July 2022.
Ozzy Osbourne’s Upcoming Surgery Will Overcome His Back Pain
In the first episode of the relaunched “The Osbournes Podcast,” Ozzy offers an inside look at the health challenges he’s faced. Kicking off the conversation by noting that most of his pain comes from his back, the 74-year-old rocker revealed:
“I’m going to have an epidural soon because what they found is that her neck is fixed. Below the neck there are two vertebrae where the bike hit me and shattered, nothing else. All I know now is that I am in excruciating pain. I feel very uncomfortable.”

When her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, asked if she had gotten a second opinion, her mother Sharon Osbourne interjected. According to him, their doctors are now seeking second and third opinions following the unexpected results of the initial surgery.
“In my back, two discs and muscles in my shoulder have separated from my skeleton, and that’s why I’m leaning forward because it’s like gravity is pulling my head forward. I thought, ‘I’ve been walking like that my whole life,’” Ozzy shared further.
The “No More Tears” singer canceled a ‘Power Trip Festival’ performance in July, sharing with her fans that she originally planned to “return to the stage” next summer. As quoted by The Blast, the father of five, who now relies on crutches for support, updated fans via Instagram, stating:
“This kind of pain. I had to make the decision to stop performing at Power Trip in October. My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024, & when the offer to do this show came in, I was optimistic about moving forward.”
The “Crazy Cars” hitmaker then went on to write, “Unfortunately, my body is telling me I’m not ready yet and I’m beyond proud to have my first performance in almost five years being half**ed.”
He later revealed that “the band that will be replacing him” on “Power Trip will be announced soon,” adding, “They are my personal friends and I can promise that you will not be disappointed.”

“Above all, I want to thank my fans, my band and my crew for their unconditional loyalty and continued support. I love you all and I’ll see you soon,” Ozzy concluded.
Grammy Award Winner Looks To Retire From Tour In February
Earlier this year, The Blast reported that the Teen Choice Award winner had given up on his attempt to satisfy his fans with live performances after postponing his European tour, scheduled for 2019, three times. In an official statement shared with his 5.7 million followers, the musician officially canceled the event and any future tour dates.
He began by apologizing for “disappointing” his fans, admitting that he “never imagined” his “tour days would end this way.” Referring to the spinal surgery he underwent nearly a year ago to prevent paralysis, he stated:
“This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever shared with my loyal fans. As you all know, four years ago, this month, I had a big accident, where I damaged my spine. My only goal all this time is to get back on stage. My singing voice is good.”
The 2011 Kerrang! The Legend Award recipient later asserted, “However, after three surgeries, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently the groundbreaking Cybernics Treatment (HAL), my body is still physically weak.”
The post, which Ozzy concluded by expressing his gratitude to his family, band, friends and fans, quickly garnered positive support from his followers.
