Amid heightened scrutiny of the Royal Family, experts have offered a solution to Kate Middleton’s Mother’s Day Photoshop fiasco.
Kensington Palace had previously released an edited photo of the senior royal for the celebration, but it was quickly removed from the news outlet after it was found to have been photoshopped.
Since then, the royal family has faced increasing pressure to release the original photo. Experts believe that this is the only solution to the controversy that can help regain public trust.
Why Experts Think Kate Middleton’s Unedited Mother’s Day Photos Should Be Released

Since Kate underwent “planned abdominal surgery” in January, she has yet to make any public appearances related to her royal duties.
However, for Mother’s Day, Kensington released a photo of herself with her children, which turned out to be photoshopped. Kate has since apologized for the blunder after it was removed from the headlines.
Despite this move, calls have been made for the original photo to be released, which is now supported by experts as the only solution to the controversy.
“Kate’s statement does not answer the question. We can all see the photo has been edited,” said Graham Smith of the anti-monarchy group Republic, according to The Daily Mail.
He added, “The question is why? Why didn’t they release the original photo? Statements elaborated through a press office that says nothing and explains nothing shows a general disregard for the public…”
“Kensington Palace must now provide a full and reasonable explanation of how and why this attempted media manipulation took place,” said former journalist Michael Cole. “Otherwise, there is a danger of permanent damage to the credibility of the royal family.”
Kate Middleton Apology For Photoshop Fiasco

Kate’s apology to the public came via a social media post where she tried to downplay the incident.
“Like most amateur photographers, I sometimes experiment with editing. I would like to apologize for any confusion caused by the family photo we shared yesterday. I hope everyone celebrating has a very happy Mother’s Day. C,” he wrote.
His statement was backed up by a source close to the royal family, who insisted it was just an “amateur family photo taken by the Prince of Wales, [William.]”

They also confirmed that Kate only made “minor adjustments,” as she claimed in her statement on social media.
Additional support came from Kate’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, who claimed that the Welsh family weren’t actually Photoshopped.
“Obviously, the family is not going to be the one to do any touching,” he said. “So if it’s gone through some filters before it goes out into the wider world, but they’re not going to photoshop it themselves.”
Recently, the Princess was seen in a car with her husband, Prince Willam

Following the photo failure, Kate was pictured with Prince William leaving Windsor Castle in a blue Range Rover.
In a picture of the two, the Princess of Wales is seen staring out her side window while her husband is seen looking through his phone.
The holiday led to much speculation that Kate might make a surprise return to her royal duties. However, the Prince of Wales was sent alone at Westminster Abbey for the annual Commonwealth Day service, suggesting that Kate went on a private appointment.
Kate is believed to be interested in “moving the story along,” hence the exit. However, this seems unlikely, as the palace has stated it will not release the unedited photo.
When Will Kate Middleton Return to Her Royal Duties?

Kate has been stepping down from her royal duties since January after undergoing stomach surgery at a private hospital on January 16. After the operation, he spent another two weeks in hospital recuperating before returning to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.
Kensington Palace has kept mum on details of the princess’s condition in deference to her decision to keep it a secret. However, they have revealed that it is not caused by cancer.
While Kate recovered, William temporarily stepped back from his duties to care for her and their children. She made a comeback in February as she waited for an engagement. However, Kate is not expected to return until at least after Easter.
