Canadian-American actress and model Pamela Anderson opened up about the dire state of her self-confidence before she posed for the famous Playboy magazine in 1989.
Anderson shared that posing for a men’s lifestyle magazine brought her a sense of “freedom” while revealing that she suffered from “debilitating” shyness growing up.
The “City Hunter” actor, whose autobiography, Love, Pamelajust hit the New York Times bestseller list, has partnered with social networking app Bumble that empowers women to advocate for victims of domestic abuse.

During a special “one on one” with Morgan Hoffman from ET CanadaThe “Baywatch” alum openly discussed how she struggled with shyness as a young girl before posing for a photo Playboy magazine in 1989.
Anderson, 55, labeled her embarrassment “debilitating”, explaining that it was so bad she would wear a hat and almost cover her whole face with it so she could only see a little.
“I hate the way I look, I hate everything. I was very shy and I always thought everyone was beautiful and I didn’t have that confidence or self-confidence,” she told the news outlet.

Anderson revealed that she turned down the opportunity to pose for the magazine several times before it finally happened in 1989, which she claims was what gave her power back.
“Then I was in Vancouver and Playboy approached me a few times and I said no. Finally, I was in a situation and thought ‘Why not? Let me try this.’ Then I got to LA and I was horrified,” shared the actress.
“Then I did my first shoot with Playboy… it was the first flash when I opened my eyes, and I felt like falling off a cliff. It feels like I’m just… allowing, instead of trying to control. And it was my first feeling of freedom,” he said, adding, “Then I went to the races.”
He Has a ‘Spidey Sense’ About the Playboy Mansion

Elsewhere on the show, the “Home Improvement” star talked about what it meant and why she said she had the “spidey sense” not to live in the Playboy mansion at the time.
Anderson said his sixth sense was always on, and he just knew not to stay in the mansion, as he recounted a specific time when a photographer said they would be alone during a shoot in Hawaii.
The actor revealed that he told a flight attendant who arranged for him to fly home for free. He stated that it was a hunch, sharing that he had heard the “red flags” several times before.

Anderson recently claimed that her “Home Improvement” co-star Tim Allen “imagined her” when they were both working on set in 1991.
In his new memoir Love, Pamelashe claimed that the “Santa Clause” actress took off her robe to show her private parts, but Allen has denied it, saying, “No, it never happened. I would never do something like that.”
During a February interview with ET CanadaAnderson insists that the incident did happen and that Allen “had to deny it.”

“You can’t make that up. He has to deny it because look at the time we are in. If he said, ‘Oh yeah, I did that…’ he’d be…” Anderson trailed off, implying the cast would be cancelled.
She recounted in detail how it allegedly happened, saying, “It was the first day of filming, and I was in my dressing room and I came out, and then he came out of his dressing room and he was wearing this robe.”
She then stated that Allen opened and closed the robe and allegedly told her that they were even because he had seen her naked, and he had seen her naked. Anderson claimed that the actor was embarrassed and acted like a “slightly giddy schoolboy.”

follow People magazine, the “Blonde and Blonder” actress recently teamed up with Bumble to help victims and survivors of domestic violence. Anderson’s partnership with the social networking app was said to have been inspired by Bumble CEO Wolfe Herd watching his Netflix documentary “Pamela, a love story.”
“Pamela is a powerful voice for women everywhere and her experience and unwavering dedication to helping others epitomizes Bumble’s mission to empower women,” said Herd.
According to the news outlet, Herd will donate to the National Domestic Violence Hotline “on behalf of Pamela and survivors everywhere.”
Anderson, for his part, said he was “overwhelmed” when the company approached him about completing the partnership. “Stepping into the unknown has always fascinated me, and by doing so, I hope to help empower and inspire other women to give love another chance,” she said.
