Greg Brown got candid about stealing from Paris Hilton 15 years ago in a recent TikTok video using the “One Thing About Me” trend. He tells the story of the night he stole Hilton’s sunglasses from his car at the nightclub, and now Hilton wants to talk to him. On her latest “This Is Paris” podcast, Hilton and Brown talked about the case of the lost sunglasses.

“Nice glasses,” Brown shouts at the beginning of the podcast. “Thank you very much for not taking me to jail, unless you are here to gather more evidence.” He then asked if she needed to wear the sunglasses in question. “It’s so funny and I almost died when I saw it,” Hilton said of the TikTok Brown created. “Can you tell us the story of how you stole my sunglasses?”
“I never thought there would be a reality where I would have to sit here and tell you this story,” Brown said. He then asks if Hilton has any “recollections of tonight” so he can fill in any blanks in the story. “So I was at the MIA concert and actually that night I chose to wear ski boots for the concert, literal ski boots, because it was 2007, it was so neon colored energy. You know, you know, you set a trend maybe. And we went and I was so drunk, so stoned, it’s legal in Canada, I can say that,” he began his story. “And there was such a mad commotion that you pulled up in a black car in front of the Government [nightclub] where you’re like the highlight of the night.”

The story goes on to explain that Brown and his friend just wanted to get close to Hilton. “It’s just the way people get pushed, me and my friend get pushed to one side, everyone who’s waiting gets pushed to the other side and then you get out of your car like there,” he said. “There was actually a documentary in Canada about you, about your impact, and at one point it was like ‘she has crazy fans’ and it was just me and my friend screaming.”
He went on to set the scene that evening, saying, “You go in, everything’s dead, your car is left there and me and my friend are like ‘Oh my God, let’s get in the car.’ So we opened the door, we got in the car,” he explained. “My friend started screaming, I think the police were coming. I’ll never forget the way he ran. It was like he was bending over screaming running, and I was like ‘Yeah My God, My God, I’m going to jail.’ Then he was like ‘I took his glasses. I took his glasses.’ We called all our friends, we panicked, and I still have my glasses on. I don’t feel good,” she said, to which Hilton replied, “Oh my God, I love this story so much.”

He then asked Brown why he decided to come clean years later on TikTok. “Because of that trend, TikTok has said that weird trend is ‘One Thing About Me’ and to be honest, if something happens, I’m on a date, the conversation goes silent, I go ‘wanna hear a story?’ and I’m just telling the story. So it’s like a story in the back pocket of my life that it’s always people like you who are insane. So when the trend came, it was like that’s the only thing about me.
Brown didn’t expect TikTok to get the attention it did and asked Hilton how the video ended up reaching her. “I got a Google alert and I looked at it and it was like someone stole Paris’s sunglasses. I was like ‘what?’ And I was just talking to my friends about how all these crazy things happened to me and people keep staring at me in all these stories and I’m like see I’m telling you this is exactly what I’m talking about, and then we watch it and I’m like ‘Yeah My god, this is genius. I have to watch it again.’ And then I was like ‘Should I do a duet?’ And he was like ‘Yeah, sure’ so I did it.”

Brown then said he was going to give the sunglasses back to her and she said “No, I gave them to you as a gift.”
