Pat McAfee appears to have officially washed his hands of Aaron Rodgers following the NFL star’s controversial comments about Jimmy Kimmel and Jeffrey Epstein’s famous list.
The sports analyst is tired of the drama as he recently announced the New York Jets quarterback has been sidelined on his eponymous ESPN show. Rodgers’ feud with Kimmel seems to have rubbed off on McAfee, as he couldn’t be happier to get rid of the athlete.
Pat McAfee Implies Aaron Rodgers’ NFL Fame Isn’t Worth His Controversial Thoughts
The past week has taught McAfee that not all publicity is good publicity after Rodgers’ drama with Kimmel. The podcast host stated in the latest episode of his show that he never expected his Wednesday program to become a controversial topic among fans over the athlete’s comments.
McAfee noted that while his show promotes free speech, people have to deal with the consequences of their words. Although he didn’t mention Rodgers by name directly, the sports analyst claimed they had “given a lot of people who have been waiting for us to fail a lot of ammunition in the last week.”

The “Pat McAfee Show” host hinted that Rodgers’ impressive track record earned him a spot on the show. However, his achievements could not overshadow his controversial thoughts. “Aaron Rodgers is a Hall of Famer. He is a four-time MVP. He is a huge piece of the NFL story. Every time you go back and tell him, he’ll be a big part of it,” he said, adding:
“We are very lucky to have had the opportunity to chat with him and learn from him. Some of his thoughts and opinions, however, upset many people. And I’m sure that’s no longer every Wednesday in my life, which has been the case for the past few weeks.
McAfee insists that he doesn’t want his show to be known for the drama, nor does he like “doing this type of talk.” He took down a clip of his announcement about Rodgers’ firing from a podcast on X, saying he was ready to resume the conversation about sports.
Naturally, the video got fans talking, but they had different reactions to the news. Some slammed McAfee for knocking the quarterback out of his show, while others supported his decision to let the athlete go.
One can only guess where the wind of animosity will blow next and the drama just keeps building!
Pat McAfee Previously Apologized To Jimmy Kimmel For Aaron Rodgers’ Comments

After Rodgers implied Kimmel had an affair with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, McAfee quickly apologized for his part in the two’s feud. The sports analyst noted his performance was significantly marred by the quarterback’s allegations, saying:
“There’s probably some things that are definitely, maybe — I mean, we’ll have to hear from Aaron on that — that were meant to be banter that can then turn into something that’s obviously a very serious allegation, which then leads to a big overnight story. “
The 36-year-old expressed discomfort at being associated with “anything negative” and stressed his team usually does not make room for the controversial topic. “But it’s because we talk s— and try to downplay everything. Some things obviously make people very angry, especially when they are serious allegations,” he said.
“So we apologize for being a part of it. I can’t wait to hear what Aaron has to say about it. Hopefully, the two of them will be able to work this out, you know, not work-wise, but be able to talk and move together,” McAfee concluded, noting that he understood why Kimmel was upset by the allegations.
