He goes into the history behind the creation of Patagonia, which never started as a business idea.

“I never wanted to be a businessman. I started as a craftsman, making climbing gear for my friends and myself, then got into clothing,” his statement reads. “As we begin to witness the extent of global warming and ecological destruction, and our own contribution to it, Patagonia is committed to using our company to change the way business is done.”

Chouinard says they create their own selection.

“Instead of ‘being public,’ you can say we are ‘on purpose.’ Instead of extracting value from nature and turning it into wealth for investors, we will use the wealth that Patagonia creates to protect the source of all wealth,” he continued. “100% of the company’s voting shares transfer to the Patagonia Purpose Trust, created to protect the company’s value; and 100% of the non-voting shares were given to the Holdfast Collective, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting the environmental crisis and defending nature. Funding will come from Patagonia: Every year, the money we make after reinvesting in the business will be distributed as dividends to help fight the crisis.”

The Yard’s website states, “We wanted to find out which celebrities have logged the most carbon emissions from private jet travel since the start of 2022. We examined over 1,500 flights to find out, here’s what we found.”

They scraped data from “Celebrity Jets” to measure the “top celebrity offenders.”

Swift is among the top with 170 private flights since January. The days averaged out to about 16 days.

Its flights released 8,293.54 metric tons in the past seven months.

Taylor’s team hit back at the shocking claim.

In a statement to Buzzfeed news, a Taylor spokesperson stated, “Taylor’s jets are regularly loaned to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to him is clearly incorrect.
