At least 20 people were injured during the tragic incident. As we reported, two juvenile suspects are currently being held in juvenile detention and have been charged with resisting arrest and possession of a firearm. The shots fired were alleged to have been the result of a dispute and not necessarily a deliberate attempt to commit mass murder.
In a statement shared on social mediaKansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves said, “I’m grateful for the charges against two teenagers who hurt innocent people, while also hurting an entire community.”
Graves added that investigators “will not relent until everyone who may have played a role in this crime is caught so they can be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”
